Biography

Formed in 1994 in Montreal, Quebec, the Smashers’s infectious pop infused melodies, rippin’ horn licks and killer live shows, quickly established them as the city’s “Kings of Ska”. They released their first album (“Self-Titled”) on Planet Smasher’s founder Matt Collyer’s own label STOMP Records and hit the road. By 1997 they were no longer a local band, but a national phenomenon, headlining shows… Read more in Amazon's Planet Smashers Store

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Debut, June 2, 2008

This review is from: Planet Smashers (Audio CD)
My Apologizes to The Planet Smashers. I had originally reviewed and rated this album with three stars. Now that I have listen to the album for over a year I understand the brillance of this album much more. I have backed into the PS catalog starting first with 'Life of the party', another all time ska classic. This album sounded a little less polished and a little more punky than LOTP, which throw me off a bit. I am sorry.

To get the record straight I have redone my review. Let me stae this a five star ska classic. This is one of my favorite all time ska albums. Every song is a winner - great hooks and lyrics that make you laugh and come back for more. Once the CD makes into my rotation it rearly leaves.

Buy it now and leave a review after you have given it a while. The best albums are worth a little wait.
