5.0 out of 5 stars Native cultures celebrated where their heartbeats overlap., December 22, 1999
This review is from: Planet Soup (Audio CD)
Indigineous music is hard to listen to sometimes because it is, by definition, specific to a native culture. Imagine, then, blending two radically different cultures' music together. Irish and Tibetan. Hopi and Polish. The combinations are bizarre. But the effect is a musical education of the best kind: With each song, I hear something more than just sound... I hear the celebration of diversity. None of that "he doesn't love me" junk lyrics -- this music captures the heartbeat of cultures. The Anglo-centrism of American music is ended. The world is merging, and this music gives us a clue to how beautiful it can be.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Dancer's Dream, June 21, 2010
This review is from: Planet Soup (Audio CD)
This diverse and rhythmic music is great for the dancer or choreographer. It is also just great as a change of pace for exercising via dance and creative expression. Put it on and dance, paint or draw and free yourself from conventions that are restrictive. Join with your fellow human beings on this planet and rejoice in being alive. (If you can get a copy!)You can;t have mine! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Set of Tracks, February 27, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Planet Soup (Audio CD)
I thought this CD was one of the best CD's I ever bought! Some of the songs are just strange, but some of them are basically quiet sounding jazzy songs. It's worth a listen, if not a buy!
