About the Author

We thought writing this book was difficult until we had to write this Bio. Since we do not believe in the normal's (what we call daily life) labels and the way they define the world, we knew it would be difficult to describe us so that others might get a glimpse into our perception of the world and what we stand for, but here it goes...

After a number of years of doing workshops on time management, goal setting, personality styles, values and helping people to get control of their lives, we had to admit to ourselves that something was missing. All this 'stuff' we were teaching was not one hundred percent effective on us and we were and continue to be dedicated self-help devotees; therefore, for the less than the devoted, it was even less effective. The values work we taught came the closest to quieting that inner voice of discontent, but even this was not all of the answer. The core of our being was not being satisfied, therefore, we were never going to achieve what we were to achieve and therefore, be happy. This sounds a lot like Abraham Maslow's self-actualization and it is, trying to find out what it is we are to do in life. We have studied his work extensively and it has helped us incalculably. However, we were faced with a dilemma. Studying and understanding self-actualization and then becoming self-actualized are different; furthermore, to fully understand self-actualization we had to become self-actualized. We knew we had to do something and we did not have a choice in doing it; but what was it, how was it to be done and when? We constantly experimented on ourselves with all the insights and new knowledge we ingested.

We therefore spent the next few years doing more research, studying and integrating. We did not become students of a guru or other person with worldly and esoteric knowledge, it just did not seem right for us to learn someone else's interpretation of everything. It has taken, and continues to take, more time this way, but we have learned raw knowledge from both sources and been able to assign our own meanings; this seems more pure to us. During this time, we had numerous peak-experiences and at the time we thought they were just isolated events brought on by our extensive learning. In addition, many windows, growth and advancement periods, opened and we seized and squeezed every bit of learning out of each. It was a very exciting time with all the major revelations and growth; but like the cycle of all things that start, grow and end, so to did this cycle end. However, when one cycle ends another starts and so it was with us.

We finally realized there is a pattern to everything we have done including the peak-experiences and the windows that opened. We also answered what we were to do, when to do it and how. It was 1994 when the cycle ended. It was also the time the new cycle started with the seed of this book being planted in us. This cycle started very slowly. However, with more learning the cycle gained momentum. We knew that to write this book we were going to have to live and become the book. Therefore, it has taken many years to finish this cycle, but finish we did with the completion of this book; and as can be expected, a new cycle has started in our lives. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.
