Customer Reviews

This diaper bag works great, holds a few days worth of cloth diapers with no odors.

Well made, washes easily (wash just like it is, then turn inside out and empty water out, then line dry).

I will also say that the pattern is very cute and the overall quality of the bag is very good.

This wet bag is nice, keeps in smells, amd washes well. The only thing I would change is the zipper. It is small and hard to zip. It should be a big, heavy duty one like on a diaper bag.

I've had this bag for about a month, and I like it pretty well. I have a 20 month old, still in diapers, a 4 month old, and a friend's 4 month old that I often take care of. So I end up doing a lot of diaper changes on the floor in my living room, rather than trecking upstairs to the changing table each time. I'm able to just keep this bag hanging on the inside knob of my bathroom door. It takes up so little room, and really holds in odors well. When my 4 year old was a baby, I had a big pail for his cloth diapers, which was a little easier to open up with my hands full of diapers and wipes. This one's a little tricky to unzip when you've got a diaper in your hands, but if you remember to unzip it before the diaper change, it's no trouble at all. It holds quite a few diapers (about 2 - 2 1/2 days worth of gdiapers cloth inserts and cloth wipes for two kiddos...would be lots of room for only one baby), and at laundry time, it's SOOOOOOOO much more convenient than a drawstring bag. The two carrying handles make it simple to get downstairs to my laundry room (lots easier to carry than the bulky drawstring diaper pail liner was), and it's pretty simple to flip it inside out and toss it into the washer with the diapers. It takes a little while for it to fully dry, but I plan to buy one more to rotate while this one is being washed and dried. I haven't had any leaking at all from this one, like I used to with the drawstring pail liner. The only things that keep it from 5 stars are the long drying time, and the slight difficulty in unzipping with a diaper in hand. Also, I found that it was a little too difficult to fit clean diapers and dirty diapers all in at once, but again, I have two kids in diapers, so I need lots of storage space. I'm thinking I may begin putting dirty gdiaper and Grovia covers into the front zipper, since they don't get as messy as the cloth inserts do. All in all, it's a good bag, and a good purchase. I'm pretty pleased :).

In the last 2 years, I've purchased 4 large hanging bags and 3 of the medium sized bags. Several of these have had problems, but others have been fine. i find these to be an indispensible part of cloth doapering.

The first two hanging bags were great - no noticeable wicking. Unfortunately, one of the bags started tearing near the handle due to the weight of the cloth diapers inside. I think this is a defect, but I was already a few months past the one year warranty. I purchased another large wet bag and another medium sized bag, but found that both of them leaked / wicked moisture horribly. I had to return them.

I was unable to find a better alternative, so I combed through the Amazon reviews to see if I could find some pattern to the bag print and wicking issues. There wasn't really a pattern, but several people mentioned having no wicking problems so I looked at the prints they purchased and did the same (owl, organic kaleidoscope). Both have been fine.

Bags with wicking issues: large meadow tweets and medium bangle dots.
Bags that were okay: large organic kaleidoscope, large green meadow, medium owl, medium black curly q

This wet bag hangs perfectly behind the bathroom door in our kids' bathroom. It keeps the stink in and has a handy extra zippered pocket for clean diapers for travel. It matches our decor and is big enough that we can go a few days without washing. Love it!

I like this product, with one exception...

On the plus side, it is beautiful-looking, holds a decent amount of diapers and hangs well on the knob of the door. Waterproofing inside is great, holds the stink in. Basically works as advertised.

On the downside... well, laundering it is a royal pain. Unlike the Planet Wise Diaper Pail Liner (Orange), there's a lot more going on with this bag. Turning it inside out into the washer is a bit trickier, and after it's been through the washer, it turns itself halfway back right-side-in. In doing so, the bag captures water from the washer and 'holds' it inside. So when I take it out of the washer, I have a big 'bag of water' that I have to hang over my utility sink and watch it slowly seep out of the fabric bottom. It takes quite a while to dry this way and usually drips all over the floor getting it out of the washer. (I don't put PUL fabric into the dryer as a rule of thumb, so I'm not sure how that would fare; but I wouldn't want to put that much water in the dryer anyway!)

Will it stop me from using it? Nope-- But I wish I had known that was going to happen before getting water all over.

I bought this bag before the birth of my son because of all of the positive reviews here and because the pattern is SO cute. At first I thought it was great. It kept all of the smell in, and that is really the number one priority for a diaper wet bag. I changed my mind when the bag started leaking. About seven months in I started noticing urine smell in our house. I thought I was doing something wrong in my diaper washing routine and stripped the diapers, did multiple rinses, etc. The problem continued. Then I sniffed the outside of the bag and found the problem. It reeked of urine. I washed it as usual according to Planet Wise's directions and then I tested it according to their web site's instructions by filling it with a small amount of water and swishing it around. I found that there was a leak in the seam. Because the exterior fabric is cotton, it absorbs and wicks anything that leaks onto it, radiating it out into the air.

I took really good care of this bag. I washed it according to the directions and only line dried it indoors. It never saw the inside of a dryer and never was hung outside, so no heat or UV damage to the PUL. Given that it is pricier than other bags, I expected this bag to last at least until my baby was out of diapers, if not through the next child.

At the time I bought my bag, Planet Wise offered a one year warranty. I contacted them and their customer service was friendly and quick in helping me arrange to have the bag replaced. I sent the defective one to them at my expense and they replaced it at no charge. I did notice that it looks like Planet Wise has changed their warranty to cover the bags for only 60 days. That does make me wonder just how many people have had their bags start leaking within a year like I did.
