1.0 out of 5 stars Bunk As Hell
I got this thinking that he wit lynch and that he's sick and tight. I was wrong. This album is bunk. Sorry. To me tight rappers are: all the sac 94' ablums dropped by, lynch, mr. doc, raided, sicx, 2pac, we come strapped by eiht, the cin sity click, some 415 rappers, 213 rappers and much more. But this album is straight nothing like anything I ever heard. Its bunk and...

Damn it's the D.E. This is a tight CD folks. I don't know what to say about First Degree, except I'm lucky to have found out about him. I first knew about Lynch, Mr. Doctor, Sicx, X-Raided, C-Bo, etc. from the Sactown crew years and years ago.. but for some reason I never really discovered the D.E. until just now. And I'm happy I did.. he has a very sicc unique style.. at first I thought some of his vocals sounded like E-40 imitations, but then eventually I realized his sound is way too dark and his range is way crazier than E-40. His beats on this CD are tight too, from Phonk Beta, and all around his music has grown on me a lot lately. It's dope, go grab some of it folks. This is a great CD.

If you have any kind of preconceived notions about what rap music is supposed to be, don't buy this album. Its brilliance might blind you.

5.0 out of 5 stars I haven't actually heard this yet... not that it matters., April 17, 2000
This review is from: Planet Zero (Audio CD)
All I can say to you people that nothing will adequately prepare you for this... I picked up Brotha Lynch's "Loaded" the day it came out and this guy, First Degree... he's not only all over that recording, he OWNS it, you know what I'm saying? The guy's flow is inimitable, unmatchable... hell, I could spit out adjectives all day long. When I found out he had solo albums (and they were very difficult to find out about, as well), I had to purchase them in short order. Unfortunately they still haven't arrived yet. "Planet Zero" is actually the D.E.'s second album, "Southbound" being his first. You can tell from the sound clips here alone that this is going to be the bomb. I highly recommend any contact with the D.E. you can get. Check out Lynch, Fahrenheit, anything Siccmade. It's out there and it will very likely be everywhere before too long-- you can't stifle talent of this magnitude.

This CD is the most creative sound I've ever heard. The DE is ahead of his time and if your lookin for lame No Limit and Cash Money sound don't by the CD because your not worthy to listen to this masterpiece.

5.0 out of 5 stars His Best Work, A Classic!, October 3, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Planet Zero (Audio CD)
I think this album is his best. Once again Phonk Beta comes hella tight on the beats as usual, and Lynch is on here doin his thug thizzle. My favorite tracks are "Weapons of War","Blackula","Time", and "Outer Limits." You know Blackula is tight main! Trust me if my homeboys like it, who are gangbangers, it's Hardcore. You gotta go wit da' ghetto first. I wasn't feelin "Damn That DE", not because of his lyrics (which are always tight) but because of his beats. I never heard Southbound but I bet that's tight too. Peace and stop the killin' in Kali. (Too many fools gettin smoked main)

I think that you either really like it or really hate it. I'm one who thinks its sorry and a waste of my money. He has his own style and some like it some dont.
