4.0 out of 5 stars Excelent dictionary of planetary correspondences, September 23, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Planetary Magick: The Heart of Western Magick (Llewellyn's High Magick Series) (Paperback)
The first part of this book is an excelent resource for all kinds of magicians and wiccans, and shows more planetary correspondences than any book I know, providing hebrew, latin and greek (neoplatonist) names, as well as color, sound and aromatic correspondences, and a good section on mythological correspondences from the Persian, Roman, Egytpian, Greek and several other pantheons. Nontheless, the ritual part proposes a whole new -and complete- different system of(ceremonial)magic which is more recent than the classical wiccan or Golden Dawn systems, and therefore has a weaker Egregora built on the Astral. A great undertaking, if you want to experiment a totally new system, and a good buy if you want to have a dictionary of planetary correspondences.

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful presentation of an effective system of Magick, February 15, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Planetary Magick: The Heart of Western Magick (Llewellyn's High Magick Series) (Paperback)
I have found this book to be an invaluable resource in my personal magickal library. It provides correspondances for the planets that while Cabalistic in nature are not locked into a purely Judeo-Christian format. I found the wealth of information on associated dieties from a surprising breadth of cultures to be helpful as well in getting a feel for the nature of each of the spheres in question. I highly recomend this book, particularly for the Neo-Pagan who has become curious about Ceremonial Magick. Blessed Reading!

4.0 out of 5 stars Best in conjuction with a good theory book, April 24, 2003

This review is from: Planetary Magick: The Heart of Western Magick (Llewellyn's High Magick Series) (Paperback)
Personally i thought this book was a great help to my occult studies, however, when i first got it, i didn't understand half of what it said. I ended up learning Kabbalah as well, because this is what the book is based on. It is not a book i recommend for beginners although if your are a beginner make sure you have a good book on the Kabbalah or even Aggrippa's "Three Books on Occult Philosophy" which has a good section on the planetary energies. But other than that, this book is invaluable to a magician seeking to pursue planetary magick.
