My son is 4 1/2 years old and he loves learning about the planets and the solar system. He likes for me to read this book to him at least three to four times a week. He can recognize a lot of the words (it's a level 2 book) and enjoys the pictures.

Great classroom resource or science resource for homeschooling,

The Time for Kids magazine is a great educational supplement for science, as this magazine on Planets. I've used them many times in the classroom. The articles are short and to the point, and the graphics capture their attention. It is also very good for special education, up to the 8th grade. Have used it in special education in the 6th grade and it works out very well. Would recommend subscriptions for teachers in the 2nd to 4th grade, but for average students in 5th grade and any classrooms with students with attentional difficulties. Great learning tool and resource. A help for teachers and home-schooling.

cute book - probably for ages 3-7. My 3-year old is really into planets, and this seemed to be a good fit. Older kids could read it on their own. Very simple, but with some interesting tidbits about each planet.

What a fabulous introduction to the universe! Our two-year-old son listens to this book over and over and it's his favorite bedtime book right now. Because of this book, he knows that we live in the Milky Way Galaxy, he can identify the nebula in the book and exclaims, "A nebula! That's where stars get born!", and counts as many stars as he can find. He can also identify various telescopes, the Hubble, Olympus Mons (and its planet), and so much more. What a fun and informative book with excellent pictures. This book would be great for the 4 and up crowd but it's easily adaptable for smaller ones who like science and nature.
