This is the reaction you'll get once you listen to Planisphaerium. Wormed is a brutal death metal band from Spain, but they mix in sci-fi themes with other forms of music, primarily technical jazz and classical. I also agree with the previous reviewer saying that this sounds like Dripping, because both bands are clearly experimental AND brutal. Other somewhat comparisons you can make with Wormed are Cephalic Carnage and Mr. Bungle. It's amazing.

Buy this CD. Preferably not on Amazon, because they usually don't distribute Macabre Mementos label releases.

BTW, Dripping isn't available on amazon.com, but you can find their "Disintegration of Thought Patters During A Synthetic Mind Bliss" album on Macabre Mementos as well. Check that CD out too.

With a name liked Wormed you can pretty much already know what to expect from this cd. If you're looking at this you probably already know what this band is all about, unless you've made some terrible typing errors. BR00TAL deathgrind is the name of the game on this release, and it is done very well. Blasting death metal, huge grooves, gurgled toilet drain vocals, heart stopping palm muted breaks, solid technical skills, but above all NON STOP BR00TALITY. There is not much that sets Wormed apart from their peers, however their songwriting skills are top notch, making this not only a punishing, but memorable listen. They kind of remind me of the band Dripping, since both acts have a sci-fi theme going on, and both are EFFING BR00TAL. This theme influences Wormed's sound somewhat, adding a proggy/spacey/futuristic feel to it at times ( the opening riff of the cd for example ). Not much else to say about this one, if this is your style you will definately want to pick this up immediately, as it will surely satisfy your craving for BR00TALITY.
