This review is from: Planning Lessons and Courses: Designing Sequences of Work for the Language Classroom (Cambridge Handbooks for Language Teachers) (Paperback)
I used this book as a set text for a Curriculum and Materials Design course I attended as part of a Master's Degree in Teaching English as a Second or Other Language. So it is a text that I have studied closely and used extensively to complete assignments related to the topics of lesson, curriculum and syllabus development and evaluation. It contains many interesting ideas that would be very useful for any teacher, especially a teacher of English as a foreign or second language. This book is a definite keeper. I have implemented some of the simpler activities in my classes (I have been teaching English in South Korea for over 8 years) and have found them to be very effective. Some of the tips and activities such as "an animal a day" and "window breaks" have been lifesavers in class. I intend to use this book thoroughly next semester and see if I can create a more varied and active class.
