Advertized dimensions are a fantasy,

I'm giving this product a 1 star review for one simple reason...the advertised dimensions are pretty far from the ACTUAL dimensions. When you buy something on-line these sort of details are important.
First off the dimensions listed here are for the outside of the case. I had a suspicion that was the case...no pun intended. Keep in mind this case is all sorts of funky bevels and recesses so you loose a lot of actual internal space because of this sci-fi design. However, even the internal dimensions that Plano lists on their literature, like the hand tag that came attached to this case (which is curiously absent from here) are, shall we say...wishful thinking. They claim internally it's 13" x 9.5" x 2.5". Well the 2.5" is close at least. Here are the actual useful dimensions. Distance in the center lengthwise between padlock holes; 11.5". 12.75" otherwise. Distance in the center widthwise where the handle is; 7.125". Distance widthwise between latches; 8.25". The rest of the space widthwise is wasted space. You might, MIGHT be able to jam a thin 9" cleaning rod in there in that small space between the latches and the handle hole. I bought this case for a particular gun, and it won't fit because of a matter of .25" widthwise.

Marginal when flying with guns,
By David Rowell "www.TheTravelInsider.info" (Redmond, WA United States) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)

I worry every time I travel with firearms packed in this case and have stopped using it for that purpose now, because the two places to put padlocks are halfway between the hinge and the handles.
What with a bit of slack in your padlock hasps, and the leverage effect, a determined person can reach into the case and pull a pistol out, even though it is, in theory, 'securely' padlocked. I've got away with inspections by four TSA officers, but I don't want to push my luck any further. As a regular gun case it is fine and good value, but for flying, not recommended.

Pretty much what you need to transport scoped pistols, or, you can even fit two full-size pistols or revolvers in them.
My ONLY personal issue was to put a bead of glue on the foam backs to keep it from falling out. At this price, I can afford a little Elmer's to make that happen. If you are wanting a means to carry your toys - BUY THESE!
