4.0 out of 5 stars Useful, great price
Pretty much what you need to transport scoped pistols, or, you can even fit two full-size pistols or revolvers in them.
My ONLY personal issue was to put a bead of glue on the foam backs to keep it from falling out.
At this price, I can afford a little Elmer's to make that happen.

2.0 out of 5 stars Advertized dimensions are a fantasy
I'm giving this product a 1 star review for one simple reason...the advertised dimensions are pretty far from the ACTUAL dimensions. When you buy something on-line these sort of details are important.

First off the dimensions listed here are for the outside of the case. I had a suspicion that was the case...no pun intended. Keep in mind this case is all...

Keep in mind this case is all sorts of funky bevels and recesses so you loose a lot of actual internal space because of this sci-fi design.

However, even the internal dimensions that Plano lists on their literature, like the hand tag that came attached to this case (which is curiously absent from here) are, shall we say...wishful thinking. They claim internally it's 13" x 9.5" x 2.5". Well the 2.5" is close at least.

Here are the actual useful dimensions. Distance in the center lengthwise between padlock holes; 11.5". 12.75" otherwise. Distance in the center widthwise where the handle is; 7.125". Distance widthwise between latches; 8.25". The rest of the space widthwise is wasted space. You might, MIGHT be able to jam a thin 9" cleaning rod in there in that small space between the latches and the handle hole.

I bought this case for a particular gun, and it won't fit because of a matter of .25" widthwise.

3.0 out of 5 stars Marginal when flying with guns, March 20, 2011
This review is from: Plano 10137 Gun Guard SE Single Scoped Pistol Case (Sports)
I worry every time I travel with firearms packed in this case and have stopped using it for that purpose now, because the two places to put padlocks are halfway between the hinge and the handles.

What with a bit of slack in your padlock hasps, and the leverage effect, a determined person can reach into the case and pull a pistol out, even though it is, in theory, 'securely' padlocked.

I've got away with inspections by four TSA officers, but I don't want to push my luck any further.

As a regular gun case it is fine and good value, but for flying, not recommended.

3.0 out of 5 stars Dimensions are off but it's a great case, February 20, 2011

I agree with the other reviewer that the specs are a good bit off. The measurements given are for outer dimensions and you lose about a half inch on all measurements for inner (usable) space. Also because of the handle you might as well lop off a couple of inches there since the area around the latches is unusable for much other than small parts or a tool.

Because of the lock holes and handle the internal usable are is 7 1/8" (7.125) by 11 5/8" (11.625) clear. Just keep that in mind when ordering. I was cautious based on the other size reviews so I was lucky in that my Neos fit snugly into the case.

Beyond the size issue though I love the case. It doesn't feel like a cheap case at all. The snaps have good resistance indicating a solid closure and there's good resistance if you press on the sides.

Of course this isn't some super hard case and you shouldn't expect that for this price. It's just a nice basic case. I can't give it a 4 star simply because the dimensions are misleading. There's *no possible way* that I could get my Neos in this box with a scope.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great item, Low price!!, November 9, 2010
This review is from: Plano 10137 Gun Guard SE Single Scoped Pistol Case (Sports)
I just received mine to day with great and fast shipping! First off, this Is a great case exspecially for only 10 Bucks!! you really cant beat it. Nice quallity, heavy duty, built to last, good materials, metal hinges, closes tight, no rattle. Fits my berreta and 2 mags and some oil perfectly. The padding does need to to be glued into plce tho but not a big deal. They stay in fine with out it. I highly recommend this if your looking for a high quality case for dirt cheap. And if you are this is the way to go!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Light, well padded and inexpensive, July 9, 2010

Having had a great experience with Plano products, I wasn't surprised this case fit my needs. As with ALL pistol sized cases, it fits, well, PISTOLS.

Ours stores a Model 84 .22 Taurus, a speed loader and 4 boxes of ammo. I've no complaints as to it's size, and for the money, it's quality is unsurpassed. This is not a SHIPPING case, but a great storage/range case.

Many people purchase pistol cases and complain they don't fit laptops or the like. Plano makes great inexpensive cases for guns, and so far I've yet to have a problem with any of the 14 Plano cases I own and highly recommend them:

Plano Pro Max Double Scoped Rifle Case (fits two mosin-nagants)
Plano 10470 Gun Guard SE Single Rifle Case (fits an ar-15 with Eotech 551 or scoped M&P15, shotguns, etc...)
Plano Protector Four Pistol Case (great ammo case or holds 4 EAA .357 Magnums)

All the plano products have a foam insert, and rigid outer poly hard case.

5.0 out of 5 stars Plano Pistol Case, January 16, 2012

Great bang for the buck. The case fits my G22 with the TLR-1 attached. There is also ample room to add a couple mags and rounds too. Only complaint is the foam pieces are not glued in. I used a drop of glue on the back of the foam and problem solved. The case has metal hinges and a lock can be attached as well.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for the price, January 15, 2012

This review is from: Plano 10137 Gun Guard SE Single Scoped Pistol Case (Sports)
this i s good pistol case for the price. It is not that heavy duty so if your going to put it through abuse don't expect it to hold up. This case holds my Hi-Point 9mm, 2 mags, some basic tools, and 50 rounds of extra ammo. It works very well for going to and from the range. After leaving my pistol in it for about 3 days the foam got compressed and has yet to spring back to its original state (still looks like the gun has been in it). The only thing i would change is maybe a slightly better foam padding.

This container accommodates a Ruger 22/45 with a red dot sight on it. The case was purchased to transport the weapon to and from the firing range.

4.0 out of 5 stars good buy for money, December 22, 2011

This review is from: Plano 10137 Gun Guard SE Single Scoped Pistol Case (Sports)
I purchased this case for a ruger 22/45 with a red dot scope. The gun arrived two days early. The price is great for this case, however the ruger just barely fit in case, a better buy would be the two gun case for less money and you have plenty of room. I am not dissapointed in any way, the only thing is I think it should be a bit more room but one cannot have too many gun cases.
