Stay away fron this case if you want to carry 2 rifles/shotguns. The interior foam padding is not thick enought to support the rifle or shotgun inside to keep it from moving around. In other words when using this case to carry 2 weapons, the top gun will bang (no pun) against the lower one. Shotgun tested: Benelli Super Nova. Even for one weapon the weapon moves around inside the case with normal handling. This is clearly a defect on the part of the manfacturer Plano. I returned the case and bought a Game Winner metal case and it works fine.

when i recieved this item it doesnt even close well. it is to flexible and the foam is terrible i returned it. i do not recommend this product for even one gun

Great case, it has to be to carry the Plano name. Good sturdy materials through out, dense foam within, solid locking latches without. Looks like it uses the same tough polymer plastics as their fishing tackle boxes. Due to it's hight, the body does bow out in the center, and there is no provisions for keeping two guns from banging into each other if you drop the case on the hinges or handle or something. However, I am using it for scoped G3SG/1 automatic rifle, and for that purpose it does the job perfectly. I will buy more in the future, for my other rifles. For two hunting rifles or shotguns, I'd reccommend Planos SXS Double Rifle Case for a few bucks more.

Although not the most expensive it served the purpose of safely air transporting two scoped rifles and two fishing rods between islands in good condition. The rifles were a scoped 24" barrel Springfield and scoped 26 barrel Savage 110. I used plumbing insulating foam tubing to add extra padding between rifles by slipping them over barrels and scopes. The fishing rods were packed below the egg carton foam. The 3 holes for locks simplified check-in because I used 3 tsa approved locks. It looks like it will serve for many years.

I might add that airlines we used are experienced in transporting hunters and seem to take extra care of our gun cases.

A little more flemsy that I would like but for the price who can complain?
Specially since there was nothing in my local big box stores and the shipping was free.

I ordered the Plano 10586 Gun Guard/Shotgun Case very close to the holidays and wasn't sure it would arrive on time. It was delivered to the door within two days and when my Son-In-Law opened it as a gift on Christmas morning he was very happy. The price was very affordable, the quality was excellent, and the merchant delivered the item very promptly. I would recommend this shotgun case to anyone who might need one.

I got this for my husband last Christmas and it is made of a good quality plastic. Really heavy duty. No complaints!!!
