5.0 out of 5 stars Special feature is very deep drawers
This unit has several attractive features. First, it is all plastic. Many similar tool boxes with this kind of storage are metal. Second, it's storage spaces are unusually deep. The top tray can accommodate items up to 5" tall, such as a DLSR camera.

The two lower boxes can handle items up to 2.5" tall and 13.5" long. One box is open inside, with an area of...

3.0 out of 5 stars Odd sized Organizers
I bought this intending to organize supplies for one of my hobbies. I knew from the description that the organizers (drawers) did not have enough dividers to do what I wanted, but was ready to by different Prolatch organizers to get the job done. the problem is that Prolatch organizers that can be purchased separately are either 2" or 3 1/8" high. The ones in this unit...

One box is open inside, with an area of 13.5" x 7.75". The other is broken into three longitudinal sections by plastic dividers. Each of the sections is 2.5" wide. These plastic dividers are fixed in place. Neither box has any adjustable dividers (which seems odd).

With it's deep drawers, I can store telescope eyepieces in their original boxes (which are 2.5" tall). I also like having a top lid that opens to reveal a cavity large enough for both a camera, small tripod, and accessory cables.

I looked pretty hard around my area and nobody stocked this model box. Dick's Sporting Goods had some Plano boxes, but all were smaller... like for fishing tackle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for my needs, March 27, 2007
This review is from: Plano Molding 1373 Stow N Go Tool Box with 3-Utility Organizers, Graphite Gray and Sandstone (Tools & Home Improvement)
I do computer service and support and need to carry a lot of small tools and parts. I added a tool palate to the inside of the cover. This lets me see most of my tools at a glance (easy to locate and to inventory) and the compartments let me carry the assortment of small parts that I need. I rejected a lot of tool boxes before finding this one. Cost wasn't a major consideration. I needed the right box and this is it for me. The fact that it is not expensive is a bonus.

I needed a new tool case and this one fit the bill. The three trays work out great as tool storage and the top drawer, by using the dividers, allows you to set it up for a large number of screws, nuts, etc. The top area works out well for placing tools or, in my case, my cleaners and such. Overall a really handy tools storage case!

The ones in this unit (and therefore the spaces for them) are 3" high. So, you're stuck with what is included.

Plano Molding 1363 Stow N Go Tool Box with 2 Deep 23630 and 1 23650 StowAways, Graphite Gray and Sandstone

Bought 2 of theses and they are almost perfect. I could use larger (taller?) but the same. I like the larger containers that fit inside as opposed to the smaller ones which come with the Plano 7771 Guide Series Tackle System which I also bought, and it sits unused! Compartments to small for what I'm doing now. I like what one reviewer said about using it as a Camping Box. I wish that photo was still posted illustrating what was done to make it so! I have vision of running through Bed Bath and Beyond seeing what kitchen supplies/tools/artifacts fit.
Though that is a thought! I've had worse. It is just that store security gets so fluffy ... .

I have many tackle boxes hard and soft for the fishing stuff, some Plano. But I bought these for Sewing Machine item storage. They hold a lot of feet/thread/tools/needles and on and on. Most pleasing. As they work for me it takes one box for each machine. Quilting/Embroidery/Sergers/Standard multi-purpose machines. Now that I've added more sewing machines I need more boxes and these are reasonably priced so makes it comfortable to have as many as needed.

All in all very handy and ( to me )a good buy. They appear to be endlessly useful.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice design, cheap and flimsy closure, November 25, 2011

Too bad, really, that the closure (and lid) is so flimsy (wobbly) and cheap. I have significant fears of the thing opening while I'm carrying it. I really like the design and dimensions, it holds a lot of stuff, and the divided pull out organizers are high quality. One bad design decision kinda ruined this for me. Make a sturdier lid and latch and it's a 5 star device. C'mon Plano!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Photography Toolbox, October 4, 2011
By

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Over the years I've been a photography enthusiast, I've accumulated a lot of small accessories -- batteries, memory cards, flashes, filters, cleaning rags, lens caps, camera straps, lighting brackets, air rockets, remote triggers, gels, chargers, snoots -- the list is endless. Before this toolbox, I never could find a good way of storing all these items. They'd end up in various camera bags -- but no single camera bag was big enough to hold everything -- or in boxes left home, which isn't very useful when going out to take photos.

This toolbox is a great solution for this problem. All the doodads and knickknacks now have an organized, sorted, and convenient place where they're stored when not in a camera bag. And if the need arises, I can grab the entire toolbox and bring everything with me easily.

I've been using this for two full months now, and this is the first time in years my camera stuff has been organized. Now I just need to sell all those dang useless camera bags.

4.0 out of 5 stars Stow-N-Go for RC Flyers, September 27, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this tool box for carrying all those essential things (parts & tools) for Radio Control Model Flying. The top compartment just under the lid will accommodate most of the larger tools one would need; I placed a small cardboard box in this area to segregate some of the smaller tools from larger ones. The drawers are similar to common plastic containers with a flip top only these actually have locks on the fronts. The top drawer has three compartments that span the width of the drawer which I store small plastic boxes with small parts and a bunch of tie wraps that span the width of the drawer; I'm not sure if there are any dividers for this drawer, none were supplied. The bottom drawer has no partitions, which I wish it did, which would eliminate the need to find small boxes to put parts in; having another drawer like the top one would have served me better. I've swapped emails with Plano on dividers for this drawer but there are none. An alsternative would be to buy one of their other boxes and swap out the one that came with the tool box. Overall, it's a good size, I just wish there were more options on the drawers.

4.0 out of 5 stars StowAway Utility Boxes, May 31, 2011

I was hoping to use this box for micro irrigation parts but the StowAway utility boxes do not have the adjustable dividers. One box has 2 dividers going long ways, which creates 3 long compartments. The other box only has 2 small lips, creating 3 long spaces that could hold round items without rolling?

This review is from: Plano Molding 1373 Stow N Go Tool Box with 3-Utility Organizers, Graphite Gray and Sandstone (Tools & Home Improvement)
If you went out and bought the storage bins separately, you'd pay way more than the cost of this neat little tool box. I bought one of these, and after it arrived, I immediately ordered two more. It really helped me organize my small electronic parts - resistors, capacitors, transistors, connectors, etc. It's too flimsy for storing car parts or hand tools, but probably good for things like sewing or arts and crafts.
