Not the best for spinnerbaits, but good for other lures, May 29, 2009
I bought the Plano 3614 because I wanted a tackle box in the 3600 size that could hold my spinnerbaits. I looked at the 3714 too, but I don't like the 3700 size because when you have a tackle bag full of 4 or 5 fully loaded 3700 sized tackle boxes, it could get quite heavy to carry around with you all day.
Well, the idea behind this box is great, only problem is that the slots are too small for any spinnerbait bigger than 3/8 oz. You really have to bend and adjust the wire of the baits just to get them to fit into the slots. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't like to bend the wires because I believe that this affects how true the spinnerbaits swim in the water.
So needless to say, I don't use this tackle box for my spinnerbaits. However this box is great for jigs and lipless crankbaits like the Rat-L-Traps. Well, that's if your lipless crankbaits have a size 6 or smaller treble hook on the back. The size 4 trebles can't fit into the slots. You can either change out the 4's for 6's, or just hang the hooks on the top of the slot and let the lure sit there. The nose of the lure is sticking out beyond the slot but the tackle box is still able to close. That works too and that's what I do when I don't have time to switch out hooks on new lipless crankbaits.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend the 3614 for spinnerbaits bigger than 3/8 oz, that is unless you don't mind bending the wires. But for jigs and lipless crankbaits, it works very well and helps keep my lures organized. It saves me time from untangling hooks when I need my favorite lure right there and then.

get organized, December 10, 2008
Short an sweet. Plano has added another product to untangle our tackle bags. The Plano 3614,3714,3734 and 3744 flipsider tackle organizers,(my name for these great boxes). Don't let Plano's miss naming fool you. I use these boxes for my Needlefish, Kastmasters, Krocodile Spoons, Kwikfish, crankbaits, stickbaits, etc etc etc...
I usually fish from a Boat. I use Tackle bags that open from the top, they take-up less room! Open bag, pull out the organizer, chose the untangled lure and tie it on. Piece of cake!
Anyone that uses many lures will love these organizers.

Not just for tackle, June 23, 2008
I love this little "flip up" tackle box. I actually bought 2, not for fishing, but for my Cricut cartridges. The die cutting cartridges fit perfectly in the slots and each row flips up so you can easily see what is in each pocket. Nice design.
