I bought this for my beading projects. I outgrew the previous tool box I used and thought a tackle box would be great! The individual drawers are enclosed so I don't have to worry about the beads spilling out. The top section is big and allows me to keep my beading tools and other bigger items. I am happy with this product - the price and quality have lived up to my expectations!

The Plano 3650 Tackle box has lower drawer problems, the latches sometimes come off, but they do go back on easily. Great product other than the latches coming off and has a marvelous price.

Good Product with Some Minor Issues for Electronics Hobby,

This review is from: Plano 3650 Size Tackle Box (Sports)
My use for the tackle box was to store electronic components I use for my electronics hobby. I work on everything from audio amplifiers to electronics for various automotive applications.
The top container: The container is the perfect size to keep oscilloscope probes without winding too tightly. It also holds patch cords with banana plugs and coax cables nicely. It is large enough to hold my breadboard which contains 3 standard terminal strips separated by a bus strip in between and one bus strip that runs across the top. The top section can be locked, but it is made out of plastic so I wouldn't keep anyone out other than a small child. This could be nice as it will prevent a curious person from damaging your oscilloscope probes or worse pulling components out of your breadboarded project you have worked hard on. The bottom boxes: These boxes are great as they have removable dividers that can be changed to fit various sized components or the ability to increase the size to fit more components. I like that I could purchase additional boxes in the future as my collection of components increases and be able to swap out the individual boxes to fit a specific need. The bottom section has no place for locks. Since all of the small easy to swallow stuff is in this part, a lock here would be nice to keep small children out. The Good: It seems built well enough to withstand typical use of an electronics hobbyist. I cannot speak for how well it will handle environments where it is likely to get banged up more. The size is great for those that have a few projects to work on and the number of components is increasing. The interchangeable drawers are highly customizable and additional ones can be purchased and swapped out when your collection of components is large. The Bad (This list may seem long but is mostly just minor issues, I would still recommend this product to a friend): It takes a long time to setup the bottom drawers. All of the compartment dividers for the bottom drawers are still connected from when they came out of the mold. A small tab connects each of the pieces. At first I tried cutting the tabs off, but any remaining bits will prevent the interlocking parts from working. The best way is to use a pair of pliers and twist until the tab breaks away; it will break away cleanly. I also found that some of the dividers were too small to fit anywhere in the box. It was a small number and I didn't need them, but something the manufacturer should not be doing. This is probably too bulky for the average EE major using it for labs. I would look for a smaller box with less drawers and swap out the drawers depending on the lab you are working on. The lock for the top part serves very little purpose. A person with diagonal cutters could render the lock useless in a matter of seconds, and if you use it to keep small children away, they still have access to the drawers where they are more likely to do damage to themselves. If you are a parent or small children are frequently present in your workspace, keep this out of reach and forget the lock all together. Overall: Once the box is setup it is very handy especially if your electronics projects require you to be in multiple places. I would recommend this product to a friend.
