Plano 7603 Flip Sider 3 Tray

I bought this Plano Flip Sider just this past fall at a local Sports Authority. My old and trusty tackle box was beginning to disintegrate from all the banging around on rocks and salt water exposure over the years. I decided to downsize a little from the days of thinking I was going to be some kind of fisherman like the ones in "A River Runs Through It". My old box ended up accumulating a lot of stuff that didn't have all that much to do with fishing, or just lay empty in places for I didn't have a need or enough worthy gear to fill it up. At the store I had the opportunity to open up and lay out all the boxes on display. Something that I decided to do for any tackle box purchase after buying a really cool looking one in a catalog years back that constantly tipped over and had rickety drawers. Although this Flip Sider, (FS), was not the biggest one they had there by far, it was in my opinion far superior in design, ease of use, storage ability for its size, and quality construction. I have filled and used this FS now for about a dozen or so fishing trips and I couldn't be happier with it. I particularly like its greenhouse style window section at the top where you can keep your most often used lures, flies, or any other equipment you frequently reach for. It flips open for quick access without having to go digging into the boxes mid section. Inside the box there are three trays that fold out, and a deep bottom for bigger items. The trays are well designed and have compartments of different sizes like most boxes do. The transparent top section gives the whole box some balance when opened, so the unit doesn't tip over easily at all if you're fishing around the trays for something particular. The other side of the flip top can also double as a drink holder if you so desire. Its a very well balanced design that I have come to feel is near perfect.

Tackle boxes will always remain something that the selection of one will be measured in conjunction with just what kind of fisherman one happens to be. Or, how often they have the pleasure of going fishing at all. Since most of my fishing trips have evolved into my usually sitting there watching other anglers raking in a fine catch, a large intricate tackle box is just not that much of a necessity. However like all fisherman there are quite a few essentials that one wants along just in case they are fortunate enough to find "Jaws" at the end of their line. This box is not only a quality made item that is extremely well thought out, but it also the perfect size to handle just about any day or weekend outing for at least 80% of all fisherman. Its well balanced, has a really super handy transparent compartment on top for quick access, and two solid easy to use clasps on the side that keep the box from spilling open and totally ruining your day. Also, at the time of this writing this box ships for free when bundled, and is already being offered at a price a couple of dollars cheaper than what I paid for it locally. I really like this box and recommend it for all my fellow anglers out there who are those fortunate enough to actually catch some fish...

My son has a heart condition & is on many meds. I purchased this to store all of his supplies, syringes, guaze, tape, feeding tube supplies, etc. I needed something to keep everything organized & in one place. It holds a lot more than I expected & is perfect for what I needed. Made very well so I know it will last a long time!

Gift for husband; he is very pleased as he is getting back into fishing and starting from scratch. This box is sturdy and stores much of his small gear. It has hinged shelves and a clear top. It is large so check dimensions if space is an issue.

So far everything I've ordered form amazon has been fabulous, until this order. I ordered the plano for school and when I opened the box I was seriously disappointed. It is red, not orange as I had assumed from the picture but that could just be my fault. However ti is severely flimsy. Too much pressure on the trays and it looks like it'll snap. On top of this the hinges on the side are broken. I can't return the item now because I need it on Tuesday, hopefully after that I can return it and get at least a better one.

I like this tackle box, it has a lot of room for lures and bobber's and it is well designed so that most items fit easily. I like the flip compartment on the top it holds all of my spinner baits and they are very easy to access. It is also very stable when completely open, it won't tip easily. It holds a lot but isn't to bulky. I have been using this for a year and I am still not disappointed.
