An Excellent Case for the Money,

If I had a classic, handmade heirloom firearm to store or transport, I would not use this case. Why not? Well, this is a budget hard case, not a luxury case with all of the bells and whistles. Now, if I had a simple rifle, something of no great value and easily replaced--like a single-shot starter .22 for a young man--and yet I wanted to protect this weapon in storage and in transit, this is an outstanding value. It's exactly what I wanted, and it fits the bill exactly.
The case measures 52" long, 8 1/4" wide at the widest point of the handle, and 3 1/4" thick when closed. I use this case for a single-shot bolt action .22 with scope and bipod, and it fits just right. The case has five four-inch-wide hinges, so the entire lid opens smoothly. The hinges are relatively tight. There are four plastic catches. They are plastic-hinged, in that the flexible plastic of the latch is the hinge itself. I can envision a time when these, given enough use, would wear out and tear/break. The hinges are not spring-loaded, but operate on the tension of the case contents pushing the two halves apart. I have had no problems with any latches failing or popping open. There are three locking points, one at each end/corner, and one in the center, inside the handle (visible in the product image). The diameter of the hole is 3/8" or 9mm, so it's enough for a modestly sized padlock to slip through. The case has a lipped channel on one half, which goes around the entire case, so the case fits together and closese snugly. There are matching scalloped foam panels on the inside, which are not affixed/glued to the inside of the case. They are cut tight, and fit well around the latches and locks inside the case. Bottom line: This is not a top of the line case. It's a budget case to get the job done easily and efficiently. This is a great case for an everyday weapon, a starter rifle, where you want basic protection for your weapon from wear, damage and weather.

The reasons for my low-star review is:
The case is thin, and flimsy. The buckles only work if the gun is positioned exactly right inside, usually one fully connecting, with the other three barely making contact The foam inserts are loose inside, sliding and bunching up The case is barely wide enough to close around my standard bolt-action .22 - the rifle must be adjusted until the bolt head slides into a groove in the plastic before the case will close. The "hard" plastic shell is really quite soft and plyable - even when locked, and idiot could cut the case open with a pair of wire cutters in 5 seconds. When closing the case, it will often deform around the gun, pinching fingers as I try to buckle it closed. I'm sure there are worse cases out there, but I would never recommend this one to a friend.

Wont fit a rifle with a scope as it says it will, the case is to narrow. Overall its an ok, case for a small rifle like a Ruger 10/22 with a scope, but nothing larger, as in an AR15 size rifle with a scope.
If I was asked to recommend this case, I would only give it my recommendation for smaller rifles, otherwise, I would not recommend it at all. If you care about your rifles, then go with the more expensive cases that provide much more protection and accommodate larger rifles.

First, let me point out how I differ from most reviewers: I don't believe in the phrase "for the price" when it is used to excuse substandard product quality. To me, an item is either good, bad, or in between, and I can see the price myself, thank you very much; I don't need others to grade on a curve based on it.
This rifle case is made of flimsy plastic. The foam is not secured to the case. The foam is also neither thick nor strong enough to hold rifles in place; when I pick the case up, I can hear my rifle shifting. Each time I open the case, the rifle is resting on the bottom. Often, to secure the latches, you have to mess around with the case to line the latches up. This wouldn't happen if the plastic wasn't so flimsy. The case is barely tall enough to accommodate my scoped rifle. To protect it properly, it really should be at least 2" taller. Rather than give this case a ridiculous and misleading 5-star rating and then excuse that rating with an "It's cheap!", I will give it the 2-star rating it deserves, and simply say that if price is the primary factor for you, then buy this case knowing it's a 2-star item. I wish everyone did that. If they did, people wouldn't so often be misled into thinking they were buying a well-priced 5-star product. Besides, prices change. Imagine the "It's of poor quality but it's cheap -- 5 stars!" review stuck under an item whose price has gone up significantly. Then, what you have is an expensive garbage product with meaningless high ratings.

It's a great case. Has three locks for safety, and it's in great condition. And only took 3 days to get here!

definitely not bad for the price. It fits my rifle & scope with room to spare. The plastic feels a bit thin but then again it is a case and not a safe. There are plenty of holes for padlocks too.

I am very satisfied with my purchase. The case is a bit long for my AK-47 but that gives me some extra room for magazines.
The first thing you'll want to do is get some spray adhesive to keep the foam in place.

This is a great case for the price. Has a nice egg crate interior, lightweight and the clasps stay closed and don't work themselves loose. Will probably buy a couple more!!

I ordered this case on a Thursday around 11am PST and used the free super saving shipping(5-8 days). I received it the very next day! I purchased it for a Marlin 925R .22 rifle and am very pleased. It is a great value for use on a little plinker, but as stated by others it isn't a top of the line case. One of the 4 latches(the one on the stock end) isn't as tight as the others. It still latches and doesn't appear as if it would come undone unless jolted pretty good though. I put a little sponge inside the case next to the latch to put a little more pressure on it. Essentially made the inner padding a little thicker in that area to get a better seal on the latch.
