I use it for the X-Wing game, and agree it is perfect through Wave 2 (comfortable fits 4 X-Wings, 7 TIE Fighters, 3 Y-Wings, 2 TIE Advanced, 3 TIE Interceptors, 2 A-Wing, 1 Millennium Falcon, and 1 Slave 1 plus all the accessories -- with room for a few more small ships). If/when Wave 3 comes out I'm going to either have to by another one of these, or upgrade to the blue version with a mirror image on both sides (i.e., twice the storage). I've posted two photos with my Wave 1 tokens and ships. But, everything listed above also fits nicely into this case.

This is a great little case. It comes with a top and bottom section that can be opened independently from each other. Both sections are divide into rows about 2" wide (though the bottom section has a large part to the right that's about 1/3 of the case but can be divided into 2-4 smaller sections). It comes with a sheet of small orange and clear dividers that you can use to further compartmentalize the case. You can write on this with a permanent marker for further organizing reasons and to keep multiple cases clearly labeled. It's made of that impact resistance ABS plastic, so I imagine it would be excellent for the kids to carry around various drawing/coloring supplies and other odds and ends. The little black things you see on the corners in the photos are actually "locks" that hold the case closed tightly (even on the bumpiest of journeys) and the 14.5"x11.75" lid makes for a convenient portable desk or drawing surface.

When I received this case I spent 3 hours sorting my legos into it (Lego= the ultimate versatile/reusable tool in sculpting/mold making/casting process). I'm thinking of buying another for sketching/cartooning supplies and possible one each for other some other creative interests.

Everyone I know or have even talked to that is involved in the Star Wars X-Wing Miniatures Game by Fantasy Flight Games has at least one of these boxes. I ended up buying two for myself when my collection expanded. If you own more than one core set of X-Wing, definitely get one of these. The top part is great for token storage, the bottom part can hold the models (either in their plastic cases or free-floating if you like to live dangerously.) It's just a really convenient (and surprisingly cheap!) storage solution.

Plano makes this kind of storage box better than any other on the market. I have used them to store small parts in my business and they do not wear. I have some that are 6 years old and they look identical to my brand new ones. There are fancier and more costly one's out there but for the amount of space you get, the durability of the product, and the cost I would never use another brand. The best.

Needed a box that could hold all the parts for a Lego Mindstorms NXT 2.0 Robot kit. This works very well. Enough compartments to hold all major parts types (not a sperate compartment for each part). Just be careful not to open the bottom compartment without closing the top first! I haven't done it yet but would be easy to do. Well made box for the cost. Made in USA.

Update 1/2014: Works well for Mindstorms EV3 too!. All parts fit. You need to get creative sorting parts and labeling, since there are many different small parts, but I don't think there is a box out there that is this compact that allows organization of all the parts.

We're using this to store the whole Mindstorms kit, and it works quite nicely! The bottom section holds the controller brick and sensors, as well as the larger pieces like wheels and long bars. The upper section includes a lot of dividers, making it perfect for splitting up all the tiny pieces. It's a near-perfect fit for the set!

As many have mentioned, near perfect for Star Wars X-Wing. In one organizer I fit:
-2 base sets and several expansions (all the rulers, templates, stands, papers, bits) that included:
-2 X-Wings
-4 Tie Fighters
-1 Millennium Falcon (large)
-1 Tie Advanced
-1 Tie Bomber
-1 A-Wing
-1 B-Wing
-1 Y-Wing

It's tight, but ditching the boxes and only taking this very manageable containter is super easy. Tip: Place a rulebook in the clear top portion so the name shows through to identify the contents.

Verdict: Recommended if you have, or plan to have, at least 6 ships. If not, a smaller solution would be better.

I bought this container as a present for my boyfriend, who owns the Agricola base game, Farmers of the Moor expansion, and an animeeples expansion (shaped wooden pieces for just cows/sheep/boar).

It is AMAZING and holds EVERYTHING. (The OCD in me had more fun organizing and placing everything than actually playing the game.)

Set up:
We set up the top layer to hold all items that are used regularly throughout gameplay: the building materials wooden circles, the shaped animeeples (original base game cubes are stored in the second layer), most but not all of the house/field/forest/moor tiles (extras are stored in second layer, as we never use up all of the tiles in a 2 player game), 2 x game player pieces of family members/fences/stables, and some other markers for sick family members etc. found in the expansion game.

The bottom layer was divided up to hold all the decks: base game E, K, and I, plus expansion decks F and E. The divider slots for the long, rectangular section on the right hand side aren't the right size for card decks, but we stacked the 3 base game decks can be stacked side by side. Remaining expansion decks are stored on a vertical diagonal throughout the rest of the bottom red layer, about 1 deck per section. The last remaining spaces are for the other 3 player piece sets, extra tiles that didn't fit on the top layer, and the original base game animal cubes.

Pros:
-More than enough space and dividers to hold all the pieces and decks individually
-locking mechanisms on both top and bottom are sturdy, smooth, don't catch, work great
-Very good value - only $13 (12.
