This review is from: Plans Set for No Weld Grinder 2"x72" Belt Abrasive (Misc.)
These plans are great and easy to understand and follow, but the most amazing aspect of all is the customer service! It is unparalleled! In addition to the plans, they also carry just about any part you need to make the grinder if you can't source it/them locally. I understand there are many folks who actually weld up the grinder...so it works either way. It really is a breakthrough though for those who do not weld or have lots of fancy tools and equipment to build. All that being said, this belt grinder/sander is compatible with many of the big name commercial products. It can go toe to toe with them in power, reliability and accuracy. It can also use their accessories. It performs like a champ!!!

Built 4 of them!,

This review is from: Plans Set for No Weld Grinder 2"x72" Belt Abrasive (Misc.)
The plans are very good! I have built 4 of the grinders from these plans and the grinders all work just fine. I use them to grind straight razors and knives. If you use the 3 step pulleys you will obtain a very nice range of speeds.
They plans do not require a mill or a lathe or any expensive tools. If you can use a tape measure and drill holes you will do fine. The grinders would also be very good for woodworking or plastics. The grinding/sanding belts are standard 2"x72" . The plans include instructions to build a flat platten and a workrest. A lot of thought has been put into the plans. They work. Randy Tuttle

Very cool DIY,well worth the modest price for the plans.Just be sure and do your homework. This can produce a pro-quality 2x72 belt grinder and will cost what your willing to put into it.I would recommend first pricing brand name complete units first. (to understand what you can save).Me and my brother are currently building 2 and welding most of the bracket areas ,well, because we can.Sure you will need some tools and materials are not free but that is obvious if you just do your research and know what you are getting into.Google away and you will see some real neat mods and tweaks some people have done with these plans. In all, nice job sir.
