Product Description

Take the worry and guilt out of leaving your plants for a few days. These ceramic sensors can be attached to any jar or pitcher of water. The specially designed ceramic point goes into the soil near your plant. When the soil requires more moisture the Sensor pulls the water from the pitcher and feeds your plant automatically - it's that simple and it really works. Each order includes 3 sensors.

5.0 out of 5 stars Completely worth it, May 27, 2008

I have several indoor potted plants that I wanted to survive while I was away. They were in 9" pots and I used one stake per pot. They looked so good after a week away that I have since left the stakes in as the only watering device. If you have large plants (mine are relatively small) or pots significantly bigger than 9" you will probably need several probes per pot. Other than the probes, all you need is a bucket, or bowl, or some reservoir to keep the water in. really easy to use, you soak the probes and tubes in water for 10minutes, put the caps/tubes on under water and put the stake in a pot while leaving the other end in the water. As the water is drawn out of the ceramic probes by the soil water is sucked up through the hose. The only real limitation is the plants have to be within the hose length to the reservoir (not real asthetically pleasing to have a bucket next to you plants) though I think amazon sells small reservoirs that hook onto the side of pots, and one probe is sufficient for smaller pots, but not larger pots. Such a simple and relatively cheap watering solution for potted plants.

This is the best watering process I have ever used. I use them all the time now, not just on trips away from home. My plants look better than the have before.

I purchased 2 of these for pots (one VERY large and one pretty small) on my front porch where even the succulents weren't making it due to my forgetfulness.

I put two probes in the small pot and four in the large and what a difference it has made. I just occasionally refill the large container where I put plant food and water and these keep them going very nicely.

I just ordered 4 more to do all of the plants in my house.
