5.0 out of 5 stars Going organic for virgins October 22, 2013

Mr Curtis has written a succinct guide to turning a rotten patch of soil into a real organic bed of rich healthy soil. From the recent web and youtube research I have been doing on the subject, he sure seems to have covered all the basics,.. and then some. He has itemised a thorough course of detailed actions to turn some really nasty contaminated soils into a growers heaven. He is very knowledgeable on the construction of an excellent compost heap. I feel that the book was well written but disappointingly short. Perhaps a chapter on compost tea and another briefly touching on important aspects of commercial organic farming, just to lock the beginner into where this journey could go,might have rounded the book off better.
I enjoyed the information and recommend this book for anyone contemplating starting a veggie patch and who wants to start out the right way.

I enjoyed the article. Would have liked it more if there were some pictures, but overall I liked how clearly it explains what organic gardening is and how you can make an organic garden on your own.

This is a very basic read about organic gardening. I like the lists of do's and don't s. It's helpful on making compost as well!
