5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent quality and yummy snack to have
This is my second order of these pecans and I recommend them to anyone who loves good quality pecans. They are unsalted so you can use them in baking as well as snacks. Excellent quality. Delicious, none at all broken.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad quality overall
I received my order of Planters pecans on May 7, 2011. I bought them because they were slightly more economical per pound than the King Soopers/Kroger label that I ordinarily buy.

I received my order of Planters pecans on May 7, 2011. I bought them because they were slightly more economical per pound than the King Soopers/Kroger label that I ordinarily buy.

The size, meatiness, appearance, freshness, moisture & oil content and taste of the King Soopers/Kroger pecans are way better than the Planters pecans that I received.

The Planters pecans were surprisingly small in size. They had very little or no flavor and they were very dry with essentially no moisture or oils, which is what makes pecans flavorful. Many of the pecans were cut or broken into small pieces and there was no shortage of shriveled and malformed ones too. They looked old and stale. When chewed they became a pasty, crud-like substance and had to be spit in the wastebasket. Nasty. They are low grade, bottom-of-the-barrel like pecans.

In the end, I was greatly disappointed. I feel like I was ripped off and I would not even recommend them rival cooks. This was my first and last purchase of Planters pecans. I will gladly pay a few bucks more for the quality pecans available at my local grocer. At least my local grocer allows consumers the option of returning bad products for exchange; Amazon does not.

Two thumbs down... way down. If it was possible, I would have rated them zero stars.

It sounds like a few people got a bad batch, but mine were fresh and quite good. They were crunchy with great taste. I was paying twice as much at my local market, now I am taking advantage of the subscribe & save so I that I never run out. I am quite pleased and would happily recommend these!

The cost of nuts keeps going up. These are about half the price of what I pay locally, and are even less as a Subscribe and Save item at Amazon. The quality is good as one would expect from planters, a specialist in nuts.

Good-tasting pecans at a pretty good price. I once bought pecans from a large discount store and they tasted like ham. These taste like pecans. I use them in cereal and for baking and snacking.

Two convenient resealable packages of delicious pecan nuts. Had difficulty in finding large packages in my area and so ordered them online. I use them frequently in salads, pies, or on their own with a glass of wine.

These aren't special pecans from an organic farm in Georgia, but they are decent, tasty pecans that do the job. I usually toast them before I use them just to pick up the flavor a bit. I have ordered other pecans from Amazon and found them to be dusty and somewhat tasteless. This is not the case with these pecans. They do seem to be fresh. So far (after three deliveries) I haven't had any complaints about them. They are good pecans for the price.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Fresh!!!, July 14, 2011

Pecans not fresh at all! We know fresh pecans, and these fell woefully short of expectations. Complete waste of $$$. No option for return, so simply tossed into the garbage. Be careful on purchases like this, no returns and all sales are final.

These are truly superior pecans. I can get them here at a much lower price than my local grocery store, and they are a better quality.
