5.0 out of 5 stars Pink Flamingos - A sure sign of a friendly home
Campy - yes. Friendly - always! Pink Flamingos are a strong indication that very sociable folks live in the abode they adorn. A pair of sunglasses is a must accessory for your pink duo as they waltz through your garden or pond. Be sure to keep them fresh looking since a sun damaged flamingo is not as inviting.

1.0 out of 5 stars Cheap Knock-Off
My past experience with this type of flamingo warns you that the plastic piece holding the legs to the body breaks far too easily. You are better off finding the original Don Featherstone flamingos because they do not have this problem.

5.0 out of 5 stars Set off a yard and the association police!, April 14, 2000

These are outstanding for giving a yard the South Florida look. I found them effective for putting in friends yards -- to be noticed by the home owners association police. They are sure to get a ticket, summons or move out notice. Great fun.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pink Flamingos - great to annoy anyone with "taste", June 1, 2000
This review is from: Planters Pride ROS12500E35 12-1/2-Inch Clay Square Planters (Lawn & Patio)
What can you say about Pink Flamingo's. These are great (they are cheap - but the price is right). These are great to annoy the relatives (they've got a lot of room to talk, they have a lawn gnome). Folks who wouldn't like these are the same folks who buy tiki torches and set the up perpendicular to the ground without any rakish tilt to them. I'm looking now for a St. Francis and a Lawn Jockey. I figure that'll set up my back yard for the summer. Buy'em and enjoy'em. Great gag gift for friends as well. I've given them to three of my friends and who love them (their wives hate them - so I rest my case).

5.0 out of 5 stars Guard Birds of Happiness, April 28, 2000

Pinky & Floyd are the guard birds of happiness in my garden. There just can't be any unhappiness with Pink Plastic friends around. That's why I think they are the PERFECT gift, and give a pair frequently. Warning: these lovely birds are quite allergic to large dogs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pink in Mission Viejo, July 9, 2000
By A Customer

We ordered the flamingos as a house warming gift for our friends who moved to Mission Viejo, Ca. We stuck them in their front yard one evening while they slept. Nothing says "welcome to the neighborhood" like an obnoxious looking pair of pinks. They were sufficiently embarresed and have vowed revenge. Great gag gift.

I think these lovely pink birds give the mobile home estates where I live a real touch of class. My neighbors that laugh at them just are too ignorant to know real art work when they see it, or maybe they're jealous because they don't have any.

5.0 out of 5 stars What's Not To Like?, April 12, 2001
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Planters Pride ROS12500E35 12-1/2-Inch Clay Square Planters (Lawn & Patio)
I've never reviewed a lawn ornament before, but this seems like a great place to start. First, for the price, these two lovely flamingos are great quality. They are, unlike the great John Waters movie of the same name, NOT "an exercise in poor taste". In fact, as far as I'm concerned, PFs have gotten a bad rap. We got a beautiful pair for a wedding present in 1995 and sadly, one of them was stolen (and we didn't get any of those cute pictures I've heard stories about, where the owners get postcards and photos of the stolen lawn ornament in front of the Statue of Liberty and other landmarks either). Some people I told about the kidnapping of our beloved flamingo made a horrible face and said they did us a favor. Needless to say I don't socialize with those people anymore (we didn't get along anyway).

What's not to like? They're a beautiful shade of pink, they're esthetically pleasing, durable, and cheer up any garden or walkway. The ones we bought from Amazon are high quality, and have longer legs than normal which are great for a variety of poses. Just a note: they are shipped in a VERY large box, probably due to the long legs, so don't be surprised if you see a gigantic box propped on your doorstep when they show up. They're highly durable, and won't chip like a porcelain lawn ornament might. Since we've put them out, there's been snow, heavy winds, and hail, but they're none the worse for wear. Plus, you can always just hose them off without worrying about any damage. They're very low-maintenance. If we ever win the lottery and end up in a multi-million dollar mansion, our flamingos will come with us and we will be proud to display them.

Flamingos Forever!

5.0 out of 5 stars Mari in Kansas, August 7, 2000

I must say that nothing adds class to a Kansas yard like pink flamingos. I first fell in love with these lovly creatures when I got one on a straw at the local hamburger place. It was love at first sight. It took me 2 years to find my first flamingo for my yard. It was just like the one in this ad, but more expensive. I now have a total of 14 flamingos in 7 different styles in my backyard. They are so much fun. I plan to dress my outdoor flamingoes up for Christmas this year as Santa and his Reindeer. You can't go wrong with these. The more flamingoes in your yard, the more people will remember you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pink, Plastic, Playful Pals, November 14, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Planters Pride ROS12500E35 12-1/2-Inch Clay Square Planters (Lawn & Patio)
Hmmm, ok, why am I reviewing plastic Flamingos? Because they are cutely quirky? Because they are cheap? Because I have a fine-feathered, if not crazy, friend who decorates her family nest in everything Flamingo--all of the above.

I bought her these birds about a year ago. She moves them around the house and lawn as if they were migrating weekly. They have held up to snow, rain, heated mini-lights, curious cats, and gleeping party guests. The birds just won't go and she wants more to go with her Flamingo soaps, door mats, shower curtain & rings, kitchen canisters et al. For easy pet maintenance, she mentioned she keeps the metal legs (stakes) oiled with a rust-proofing spray.

Seriously, where else could you find a gift of two durable playful pals that bring oh so much love and mischief, for under [price]? Buy the birds--someone will be glad you did.
