Although you have to soak this mulch for much more than 5 minutes (works best when soaked for some hours or overnight)...it is well worth the wait. Two blocks make for a wheelbarrow full of wet mulch that you can plop down and shape with your gloved hands, which made for the opportunity to create nice rounded and moulded edges...piles on thickly, more so than the dry kind I used to buy at Home Depot...I have mine six inches thick and it is bright and healthy looking...making a nice backdrip for my uprising bulbs. Already have it on my wishlist to purchase again.

As advertised, it certianly does expand to 5 times in volume with the addition of water. However, the product is very unevenly cut. As a result, the smaller pieces breakdown quickly and loss their value as mulch and turn into soil additive! The larger pieces look a bit unsightly...
