Working in fast paced Communications Center means I need the ability to control what my callers hear and don't hear. We do have the ability to check a box on our phone system screen that mutes the microphone, but not only is it not 100% effective it is also difficult to check that nearly microscopic box. Should you need to turn around and try to speak to someone on the floor, this is almost always when the caller asks if you are there. We work with more than one mouse and going back and forth is ridiculously cumbersome.

Enter the mute switch. It connects between your headset and the computer coil connection in two easy snaps. The switch is so easy to operate it makes switching back and forth a breeze. There are two symbols on the switch; a full circle (meaning your mic is open) and a half circle that means we can hear the RP but they cannot hear us. My coworker saw mine and was instantly jealous! So I bought her one too. I just came back to order another for my other partner. Anything that can make a job easier, for such a small price is a definite winner in my book. Try this switch, you will not be disappointed! My only advice is to put your name on it, it might grow legs and wander off!
