No good for RCA Executive Series 4 line phones,
By
This review is from: Plantronics HL10 Handset Lifter (Electronics)
I use the Plantronics Voyager 500A, which is great. The handset lifter is an obvious fit so you don't have to lift the receiver from the cradle each time. However, if you are using the RCA Executive Series - 4 line phone, or for that matter any phone hand set that does not have a high arch, the "Lifter" can not fit under the handset. The handset will not sit in the cradle or slides off the cradle. The added extender arm that comes with the Lifter does not cure the problem. I had to send the unit back for a refund. Great idea though, but know that is will not well or at all on such phones.

First of all, I must start out by saying that I am a little surprised that this little mechanical device is even necessary with all of the technological advances out there these days. The HL-10 is kind of a "throw back to the seventies" in terms of its jerry rigging function. Having said this... Plantronics builds quality stuff and I am sure that there is a good reason for it. The device does exactly what it is supposed to do once you adjust it for your individual phone. I was a little concern that it would fit my phone but they include plenty of adjustment options to take care of any setup. I am using it with a Plantronics CS351N headset - which I love for it professional wireless function. I tested the HL-10 by picking up/hanging up the headset 10 times in sucession and the lifter raised and lowered the receiver successfully each time. That was good enough for me. Definitely worth the $ if you own a wireless headset and you roam around the house/office while talking on the phone.

We bought the Plantronics HL10 Handset Lifter to go with our Plantronics CS-55 Dect 6.0 Digital Wireless Office Headset and have been very pleased with both devices. Using the handset lifter give you the ability to answer calls directly from the wireless headset, which is good if you spend a lot of time away from the physical phone to which the headset unit is connected.
Setup was amazingly easy, just following the directions allowed us to get this installed in just a few minutes on our very inexpensive no-name speaker phone. Like our Plantronics Headset, this has passed the test of time and I would buy a new one if it failed today. Highly Recommended! CFH

Absolutely love the capability... combined with my bluetooth headset that answers both my cell phone / office phone, i'm set. The only challenge is that I bought a phone (happens to be an RCA model) that it's outside is slightly curved. The mechanism that this device attaches with is with sticky double sided tape. Now, if the phone had a flat outside edge - it would work perfectly. Unfortunately, every few days it start to sag down and stays off the hook when I disconnect. Soon I may just superglue the thing into place! Just something to watch out for! Really do like the capability and recommend.

!This is a Great Product! I read all the bad reviews and nearly decided on a whole different phone system altogether. The Plantronics HL10 Handset Lifter works very well with my Plantronics CS540 Wireless Headset. It was very easy to install and looks good on my CISCO SPA504G VoIP Phone I received from VoIP Your Life. Although the three cords do not look bad , I chose to use 7 inches of black Techflex CCP1.00BK Flexo Clean Cut 1-Inch Braided Cable Sleeve to clean up the installation. I would definitely recommend this combination.

I was disappointed that I had to modify the handset in order to make it work with my phone (Polycom IP 650). My phone sits at a 45° angle (not adjustable) and the unit would lift the handset OK but the handset would always slide off the cradle when it tried to hang back up. I marked the handset just above where the lifter contacted the handset, drilled a small hole and inserted a short push pin to keep the handset from slipping, now it works just fine.
