Although this bluetooth ear piece is gorgeous, has great sound, and is very professional looking- it is LACKING a multi-directional ear hook.

(BAD) You can ONLY wear this bluetooth piece on your right ear- you cannot adjust the size, shape, or direction of the earpiece.

(FAIR) The earpiece is lightweight and comfortable to wear for long conversations, as long as you can figure out how to wear it. The good thing is that it fits a small woman's ear reasonably well, but you still cannot shape the earhook to fit perfectly.

(GOOD) There is an auto-command function for hands-free usage while driving. To access the auto-command menu you simply hold in the power button until you hear a single beep, the menu activates.

(GOOD) The volume key is a single button that cycles through your phone's sound levels. This earpieces has excellent sound quality in that I rarely have to turn the volume up at all- it's clear enough to well even on it's lowest setting.

(GOOD) The person on the other end sounds better when I use this bluetooth piece during a call than when I use my cell phone's ear piece. The caller on the other end claims I sound no different than I would if I were using any other phone's microphone.

(FAIR) The retail box contains limited instructions, the ear piece, and an AC Charging cord. The is no USB cord to charge with your computer, and there are no extra ear hooks.

(GOOD) There were no technical bugs or internal issues, which is a very good thing. It paired seamlessly with my cell phone and has very good range without excess static. The Power/Pairing button was easy to use, it charges really well and the volume switch is a single button that you press repeatedly to cycle through different volumes.

Overall, a functioning product, but the lack of a comfortable right/left ear hook is very disappointing.

I've owned this headset for at least a year and am still happy with it.

Pros:

Pairs up with my Samsung without a hitch.

Fits snug in my LEFT ear. (just pop the ear clip off and flip it over)

Good sound on both ends.

Doesn't look like it belongs on a cyborg.

Cons:

In some rooms I'll get sound quality complaints from those on the other end,

but for a lower end headset I don't expect it to handle odd acoustics

gracefully.

Repositioning it fixes most sound issues.

I wouldn't hesitate buying again at this price. (~$30)

Head set had bad sound quality, and the people I spoke to complained I sounded distant.

He hasn't said anything negative about it so I assume he liked it. Holds a charge really good, is a bit cumbersome to use as his phone does not have voice activation. Would like to have had a car charger included.

I had problems with a previous order,but sent an e-mail to Amazon and I am very pleased because they sent a replacement immediately,no question asked I don't have any complain the product is working fine.

This headset worked fine while it worked, but it quit working. I got it in June from Best buy when I purchased an HTC EVO. Normally not a headset guy, but it's nice while driving. (don't have a handsfree speaker set up). Anyway, the thing stopped turning on about a month later. It is charged, and I can put it in pairing mode. My phone sees it, but cannot connect, and the headset turns off. After 15 minutes on the phone with Plantronics just now, I gather that the "pairing mode" is defective (although I used it for a month) and they are familiar with it. They are sending me out a new one after I scan and email the proof of purchase along with the case # they provided, and after I filled out an online form, and waited for email confirmation. Somewhat tedious, but done. If I get a new unit and can update this review, I will.

This is my 2nd Plantronics UP230 Bluetooth Headset. I originally ordered this one because I accidently put my 1st one in the washing machine. But a few days after I ordered it my original bluetooth started working again. Any device that can be immersed in water and keep working gets 5 stars from me! This bluetooth is small and comfortable in your ear. I have been told that some background noises are loud and rather piercing when talking on it but for the wearer, it's great.

The actual headset works like all others but this one actually fits my wifes ear. She has a very small ear and we went through 3 different Bluetooth headsets before we could find one that was small enough.

Note: I have big ears and it fit me as well (a little snug but a good fit).

Don't waste your money.

I bought this as a replacement for my Plantronics voyager 510, i picked it up in a VZW store and it was just too much of a hassle to return it so i decided to to just use it with my xbox 360 seeing as how my other headset for that broke. i haven't had any complaints about how i sound as far as that is concerned but when i had it paired with my phone (LG VX10000 Voyager) i got nothing but complaints from people about how they couldn't hear me or if they could hear me the sound was choppy as if "it was leaving out bits and pieces every few words" as one of my friends described it.

I got a plantronics up230 headset for xmas 2009. It served me well for 18 months so I decided when it quit to get the same model. Unfortunately this one lasted just barely one month. I thought it was new..it came packaged like brand new.

I hate when that happens!
