3.0 out of 5 stars good mic and sound, not comfortable to wear for long time
Mic and sound is good for the price. Got them at local store for $14.99. However, the headset doesn't open wide enough for my big head. (never thought my head was big until wearing this headset) Appearantly, it's designed for narrow/small head person. Can't wear it prolong period of time. My ear hurts. Too bad....Have to return to the store.

I bought this for use on teamspeak and skype, and games like Counter Strike and Flight simulator on the net. This headset is shaped perfectly, the mic can be adjusted freely. The quality of sound through the speakers is excellent and using microsofts speech options in your windows control panel allows you to adjust the mic to work perfectly with crisp clear clarity. As long as you dont yank this headset around and pull at the wires it seems perfectly well made. The little remote on the wire(includes a mic on/off and volume) is ideal for use on the net. Voice recogintion also works well. Absolutely worth the £15 i paid for it! Buy it now

despite the bad reviews, this headset is a great one. i use it to play cs and it works just fine. sure it breaks easily but not unless you don't take good care of it. i take good care of my stuff and my headset has been with me for 6 months and it still works fine to this day. don't buy it if u are going to break it tho. its not for breaking :)

These are great headphones for the price. Wires seem very fragile though.

I will have to disagree with all the negative reviews. I have used Plantronics headsets for about ten years. When they were not available to me I tried every other brand on the market. I always came back to Plantronics as soon as I could. Why? They are lighter than most other models. Now this may mean you can't sit on them or throw them around, but anyone with a modicum of care can easily have them last for years. In fact they will last for years. Mine typically last me at least three years before the ear piece foam gets worn out or the volume control does. Now three years of lightweight excellent sound quality is plenty to me for this price. If you think other brands are better please buy them. Other brands I tried were heavy, clipped to tight to my head, fell off my head, had poor stereo sound and/or poor quality microphone, and did not last more than a few months or I couldn't stand them so I threw them away. One other thing, these are the folks that did the headsets for NASA when we went to the moon, so they know their business. If you are looking for a lightweight good stereo headset for long hours of computer gaming, this is a great one for the price. If you are looking for a bulky, heavy construction, hurt your ears after hours of wear, super sound headset, why are you here? This was not designed for that purpose. Plantronics certainly has them as well but that's another model. I suggest you go look at www.plantronics.com to get an idea of all the models they make. You will then see Amazon carries several with good pricing.

I have the pair that came with the MS Gamevoice. I got it about a year ago. So far I have been quiet pleased with them. Although after a year they are a bit warn out, but still in one piece. I am very pleased with the mike quality, and the speakers are top notch. After a couple of hours they kinda make your ears tender.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works for me, May 17, 2006
This review is from: Plantronics Audio 60 Stereo PC Headset (Personal Computers)
I bought these while looking for a headset/mic combo in the under $20 price range. I wasn't expecting them to compare to $1000 studio monitor quality headphones. I see that some of the other user reviews express concerns about the build quality of these units. So far they are just what I wanted, I'll update if anything changes.

After many, many disappointments, finally a headset with a mic I can use.

The unit is light and of stamped plastic, so the various joints (mic and speakers) may not last long or to abuse. The boom extension mechanism is quite good, and the mic is very sensitive when coupled with the 20dB boost on my sound card.

The mic could use a foam sleeve, to reduce breathing noises. The swiwel of the earpieces is not welcome, since it attenuates bass reproduction quite a bit (press lightly on the earpieces to appreciate the difference).

For the price, quite a good headset that does not disappoint.

The quality of the sound is fairly good for the price tag, and the microphone is quite responsive. However, the headphones become somewhat uncomfortable when worn for extended periods of time. All in all, a good buy.

2.0 out of 5 stars LOUSY EARPIECE CONNECTION DESIGN, November 18, 2004
This review is from: Plantronics Audio 60 Stereo PC Headset (Personal Computers)
Havent had my headphones a year yet, and Iwould say that the LEFT EARPIECE has dislodged from the connection that goes over your head atleast a dozen times....and now it wont even snap back in place. Also it turns out that the wire to LEFT EARPIECE runs directly underneath the plastic snap connection that the plastic ball earpiece part of the connection snaps into... (well no longer snaps into. Sound quality is actually by my standards average at time of purchase and has degraded in sound quality more and more with each with each earpiece failure. Wouldnt purchase again and wouldnt of purchased originally if what I knew then what I know of the poor engineering of the earpiece connections. Also the wire splitting for the mic jack and speaker jack (as seen in above picture are not split in a distance that I found workable for my system. Be warned!
