The good: comfortable fit, easy to switch on and off while wearing the earpiece. The bad: it only has four volume settings, and the highest possible setting isn't nearly loud enough. The only time I can comfortably hear the party I'm speaking with is if there is very little background noise and I push the earpiece into my ear as far as possible. When driving, I have to keep the heater off because the sound of the blower is plenty loud enough to render conversation impossible. Driving on city streets is bad enough, but getting up to highway speeds on an interstate expressway impinges to the point of me having to end the conversation.

For the record, I do not have a hearing problem and my car is not louder than would be considered normal. This earpiece simply isn't loud enough by a long shot. Am returning it today for another model or make.

I like the sound coming out and the noise canceling offered by this bluetooth headset. However, the way it fits in the ear is almost painful at times. I wish they had the earbud made of something mushier: the strong material it's made up doesn't quite fit the ear comfortably.

The Plantronics Explorer 395 is the noisiest headset I ever used. It sounds good to the user and is okay if used in a very quiet environment, but it amplifies every little background noise. I didn't know that until people I called asked what that loud noise or static was when there was only minor noise in the background, so I stopped using it. I have to wonder if the reviewers who like the advertised noise cancelling feature only use it in noise-free areas or only call polite people who don't tell them how annoying it sounds... or maybe I got a defective headset.

I've tried several bluetooth headsets with multiple cell phones over the last couple of years and most sound just terrible so I was hesitant to give this one a try but decided to take a chance. I'm glad I did because it works great with my iPhone 4. The sound is very clear both on receive and transmit and it pairs with the phone quickly. I also like this because it has the piece that wraps around the ear instead of depending on the earplug style mount. Comfortable to wear as well because the ear piece doesn't push into your canal. The only thing I would change is somehow incorporate a mute button directly on the headset so you don't have to go to the phone itself to mute when you may be on long teleconferences but need to speak up about something.

So I've only had it for about a week or two and I already want to send it back. Instead of noise cancelling it seems to have noise enhancing features where everything in the background is as loud if not louder than you. The headset itself can be moved around to "try" and get a comfortable fit which I honestly have yet to find. I use it for a couple of hours at a time to talk to my girlfriend and after a while the plastic which goes around your ear begins to hurt. The sound quality isn't very good either but that could be because I have a cheap phone. Regardless I always find myself asking "what did you say?". Overall its cheap but not the good cheap, the bad kind.

This is the second Plantronics Bluetooth that I have owned. I am equally as happy with this one as I was with the last. I have an iPhone4. I tried to use the old plantronics but it wouldn't pair. So I researched everything. I was also looking for value as I didn't want to spend a fortune. This headset is attractive, small, sleek and easy to wear. It was extremely easy to pair. I gave it a full charge first. Sometimes if it sits for awhile it might need to be turned off then on again to get it going again, but that's it. I am very happy with my purchase. The sound is very clear. I purchased the same for my husband and he loves it. I would buy it again. Hope this helps.

I have had this headset for about a year now and I honestly have to say it's the worst headset I've used. It picks up all the background noise. So don't plan on typing or evening driving in the car with the heat on because it will be to loud for the person on the other end. Also, the volume is no where near loud enough so you will be pressing it against your ear just to hear. Really bad headset.

After 5 uses there is a blinking red light - battery wont charge.
Internet forums suggest this is a regular problem with plantronics headsets.
No way to fix - you have to return.
try a different brand.Do not buy.

Great price at amazon after comparing with other sites online. No problems with the device so far. The microphone is excellent, people I am talking with can hear everything in the background. The earbud is very comforatable.

Price was great. Product had better background sound reduction. Turning on and off more difficult than other versions of their product.
