The item listed was sent to my by Amazon and unlike the picture it is a dark gray. I have 2 of them (one for me and one for my husband) and both of them are gray. The picture on the package is a bright vivid blue just like the Amazon picture. No where on the package could I find the listing for the color. I originally bought these so I could talk on the phone while riding on a bike. The wind filter seemed like a nice feature and was the main reason for purchasing this model. I cannot say for people that run, but if you are on a bike and trying to use this you cannot hear most of the conversation. The wind howls through the earpiece and is headache inducing. This product does works very well as a standard bluetooth. The ear clip is study and is able to securely stay on a person's ear. Overall I am happy with the product, but am not able to use it as much as I had hoped.

Worst Bluetooth Headset Ever Made,

Do not waste your money on this headset: While it claims to me made for wet and dirty environments, you will never be able to have a conversation in anything but a very quiet environment and most environments which are wet and dirty tend to also be NOISY! I bought this for use while walking on the beach. Within 3 weeks the charging port became corroded and actually stuck to the charger cord and was pulled out of the headset, rendering the headset totally useless as it could never again be charged. Even if it had not fallen apart, the inability to hear and be heard was ridiculous - even the cheapest Plantronics Bluetooth headset has TWICE the volume as the 370. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY - THERE IS NO WARRANTY EITHER BUYING THIS FROM AMAZON!

Technology has come along way with blue-tooth headsets. I have had many and they all sucked, especially the jabra. Thanks to positive reviews I purchased the 370 and very satisfied. No dropped calls, very clear, long battery life, easy control button to answer and hangup calls....what more could you want.

I purchased this for a friend who was replacing this for one he had bought. He had this same item before and liked it much better than a high priced one.

Rough and Tough Bluetooth Headset,

This review is from: Plantronics Explorer 370 Sport Bluetooth Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
Well I have owned one of these since they were first introduced and after two years of hard use outdoors and accidents(being stomped and a trip through the washing machine) my Explorer 370 is finally unable to hold a charge. The housing is cracked, the rubber bumper is gone but it still gives decent call quality for the short duration it will still hold a charge. I have never been so satisfied with a technological product. This was obviously designed for real outdoor people and might make a few compromises that leg waxing nancy boys and mall crawling soccer moms don't appreciate but what you get in return for these compromises is rugged performance and durability. I like this product so much I am going to buy a couple more of them since they have been discontinued and there is no similar alternative on the market yet.

I purchased a 370 years ago when I was working outside in the weather because it said that it was weather resistant and rugged. It was an excellent product and lived up to the description. I was devastated when I lost it. I was even more devastated when I went to reorder it from Plantronics and found out they had discontinued the 370. I bought a M100 which was not a good choice. It had a lot of quick features but was so uncomfortable that I could not wear it for very long. I Googled the 370 and found it on Amazon and ordered it immediately. It was new with all the accessories, shipped very quickly and was like getting an old friend back when I got it. It is so comfortable to wear because of the design of the ear node for inside the ear. It is rugged and indestructible. If Plantronics would install some of the bells and whistles of the M100 into the 370 they would have an even better product. I am very happy with the product and the company that I bought the product from. Thank you to the seller and to Amazon for your time and trouble.

Ok, i've had this headset for a little more than a year now. I used it everyday, on the job, outdoors in the rain in seattle. Now finally, the battery will no longer hold a charge at all. Of course, you cant replace it, and Plantronics has appearently discontinued it. no more weather resistant headsets. Bummer

I had a bluetooth headset a few years ago and didn't like it because the charge didn't last but a few hours and the volume was not loud enough to hear with any background noise. After a short time I gave up on it and switched back to a wired earpiece and microphone. I decided to give them another try to see how the technology had improved so I picked this model up on gold box deal. The battery life of this model is very good. It can go for days without needing to be recharged, depending of course on much you're talking on it. The volume on this model is better than what I had in the past but still I wish it were louder. I can be very difficult to hear and be heard in a car at decent rate of speed. Also, the fit in the ear isn't ideal -at least for me. There's a hard rubber tab that is supposed to fit into ear and I find this to be uncomfortable and it has a tendency to slip out making it difficult to hear.

I've tried MANY many different bluetooth earpieces and headsets over the years. Typically Plantronics units have worked well for me. In fact, I'm currently using a Plantronics 975.
I saw this on a special and decided that for the price, it was worth trying out. Finding an earpiece that can handle the Pacific Northwest weather is somewhat of a challenge. Plus it's nice not to have to worry about it if you need to take your phone with you when going hiking or camping. One of the main difficulties with earpieces, for me, is finding one that fits correctly. It's harder to track down a comfortable and solid fitting unit when you wear glasses. Either the portion that fits in the ear isn't secure or the ear loop forces a poor fit. Neither of those are the case with this unit. Unfortunately there is not currently an image of the opposite side of the earpiece on amazon right now (I'll likely post one a bit later). But the design of the ear canal portion along with the swiveling loop make for a solid fit. As far as call quality goes, I can clearly hear other parties and they can hear me just fine; most of the time. The filtering that is mentioned does not seem to be that effective. In a light breeze it seems to be fine. But just walking along, if a car or truck drives by, it has a significant effect on the listener. I haven't tried it in a heavy traffic area yet (such a downtown Seattle). However, compared to other "durable" models that I've tried, this is certainly a MAJOR step forward. Just be aware of your environment when on calls. Note, the copy specifically mentions that it filters out wind noise - not necessarily noise cancellation like other earpieces. I believe if you want a weatherproof earpiece for use in inclement weather or for outdoor recreational activities this would be a good match. |
