She says it's like when we are watching a movie, she can hear all the sounds and it really acts like surround sound.
Will
Comfort was good, my ears didn't touch the inside of the cups like on the 323D's, they were tight to my big head but that should loosen like most do over time.
Michael Hess
The hard plastic used in the head band will eventually snap just above where the ear cup connects to the headband on the curved piece of plastic.

So when I got these headphones, I had been using earbuds and the microphone built into my laptop. As you might imagine, the sound quality was poor and the people I spoke to on Skype complained about the microphone. Then I upgraded to THESE things, and the audio was amazing, and the folks on Skype said I was coming through crystal clear. So everything was hunky dory, right? Nope.

One day I put these things on and SNAP. The connection between the left earcup and the headband--right on that curved area above the cylinder-looking thingy--suddenly snapped. Well, it didn't come off, but a rather large fracture appeared there and it coming off completely can't have been far behind. I looked on the other side of the headphones and saw stress lines on the plastic, so that side was well on its way to snapping off as well. Wow. Disappointed doesn't even begin to describe it.

Okay. Headphone manufacturers. Listen to me. No matter how much you might want to, you can't skimp on build quality, okay? You can use plastic, that's not the problem. But it has to be durable plastic, and not too thin. It can't put too much stress on the wrong locations. And you especially can't say to yourselves, "Well, if it breaks the customer will just buy another." NO. That's not what the customer will do. Your customer will return your product to the store AND you will lose his trust. Being cheap costs you MORE money, not less!

Little background:

I've used many gaming headsets over the years as well as regular headphones such as audio-technicas and sennheisers so this isn't my "first time" with a pair of headphones/gaming headset, but this is my first review of any product on Amazon. I felt it was really important to review this headset because of the value that you are getting is pretty amazing for your money. I am mostly an FPS player most recently playing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive for the last couple of months and I purchased this headset because I played back a demo and I hated the way my voice sounded in the game... Just muffled and barely understandable unless I was talking reeeeaally loudly. I was using my Audio-Technicas + Zalman clip-on mic which was a nice combo until I realized the sound on my mic was really bad. Together those two items cost around ~125 dollars.

After doing a lot of research and reading a fair share of these reviews I was a bit hesitant to purchase these since everyone I talked to constantly says "don't buy gaming headsets" since the sound quality wasn't going to be that great, but I obviously tried the headphone/mic option that wasn't that great so I gave these guys a try and at $55 I am more than happy with them after about 4-5 months playing with them.

SOUND QUALITY

The 780s are really great as far as directional sound is concerned. I *cannot* use 7.1 in CS:GO since it isn't an option, but I did try the 5.1 in game sound and it was pretty decent except for the fact that most of the time I have teammates in mumble talking and they sound... I like how another reviewer named it, "God Mode" where they are talking down to you with their voice echoing around the room.

I usually don't write reviews, but given how popular this product is, people should be given a fair warning.

Pros:
The audio quality from this headset is great. The sound does leak out, but it's not terrible. Environmental noise leaking in is also minimal. I've never purchased a $200-300 headset before, so I can't compare to the high end, but these provide the best audio experience I've had from a headset. They're also very comfortable but I have a smaller head. They fit comfortably around my ears and I can wear them for extended periods of gameplay without any pain.

Cons:
The headband snapped around 11 months after purchase. When I originally purchased this item, there weren't any reviews stating this problem, but now that I return to the product page, I see lots of complaints regarding the headband snapping. Plantronics customer support was very quick in replacing the headset under warranty, with the customer having to pay to ship the defective product back. However, I can already see, on my brand new headset, the plastic discoloration in the exact same spot my previous headset broke which is above the ear cup with the microphone. Also, I was almost out of the one year warranty. The plastic in this spot is very thin so repairing it yourself with glue or tape will be very difficult.

So be warned of all the great reviews, they were probably made after a month or less of using the product. If you're looking for a headset that will only last you a year or two with the warranty replacement, they're definitely worth the buy. But if you're looking for a headset to last you longer, I'd recommend something else.

Sound is great, the surround sound feature is neat, and the microphone is high quality. Headset is comfortable for extended periods of time. Software could be a little more robust, but it gets the job done.

However, both pairs of these have broken in the exact same way (and, if you look at other reviews, this is not an isolated incident). The plastic portion that rests on top of your head has a flaw just above the swivel mounts. It snaps clean off without much warning. Neither pair was put through undue strain or use - the only stress on that location was the normal putting on and taking off of the set. Both are now completely unusable. Do not buy this set - they're quality overall but a fatal flaw makes them useless.
