Amazon Verified Purchase
I purchased this unit for a small home-based business, whereby I have a very active company phone line using a VOIP phone and VOIP phone service. I have been looking for a way to "unplug" my phone to free up my hands, but I wanted a wireless unit. After looking around the web I decided to purchase this unit. The base of the unit performs as it should, allowing you to switch between the deskphone and the computer (to use with skype). But, I must say... after spending HOURS trying to get the headset to sound good, it was a lost cause. The microphone was so bad that no matter what I did it always sounded like I was talking in my car with my phone sitting on the passenger seat. I am VERY computer literate (running many web businesses) and I am a formal video engineer... and I couldn't make the microphone work. Also, the earpiece, although not as bad as the microphone, was very low and I couldn't hear it very well. My complaint is with the microphone, and not really the earpiece.
I just sent this unit back for a refund and purchased the Jabra Pro 9470. WHAT AN AMAZING DIFFERENCE!! I am not going to review that unit here, as that would not be appropriate, but it is very sad that Plantronics is trying to sell this device as anything worth anybody's money. Terrible sound quality equals terrible customer service... period!

I have this unit for about 14 months now and in the last week or so I started hearing a "beep" tone on my headset. This normally starts after 30 - 40 minutes. I guessed it has to do with the battery and I call the tech support. They said it is indeed the battery not able to hold the charge. The support engineer said it lasts up to 2 years and here is the interesting fact....you cannot replace the battery. You need to replace the entire headset and it runs to about $60.00. I am very disappointed with the battery life and this is not a cheap unit. The unit has a 1 year warranty.

Overall good performance, clear and long range (> 100ft).
May have interference with other Plantronics wireless devices in close proximity.
Over the ear earpiece swivel and silicone ear inserts will not last more than about a year of constant use; plan on purchasing replacements if you can find them.

Battery Life only 2 years

It may sound fine, but very awkward to use
