5.0 out of 5 stars Great open ear headset
Nice upgrade over my old plantronics headset that they discontinued. I hope these last a bit longer. Frame is more solid and the mic boom is beefy and should stand up to wear and tear. The cans are nice and large and fit completely over your ears. Very comfortable - wearing them for 3-4 hours is no problem. Since they are open ear they keep your ears from getting...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great sound, poorly made
I have used this item for about 3 weeks now and have to say it both good and bad.

The sound is clear and I can find no fault there. The ear cups are also large so to provide plenty of room and not get hot inside due to the open air of them.

My problem comes from the microphone. There is no fault in the voice quality, as I have asked people I talk...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great open ear headset, October 19, 2007
This review is from: Plantronics Open-Ear Full Range Stereo Gaming Headset (Audio 370) (Personal Computers)
Since they are open ear they keep your ears from getting sweaty and also allow you to hear the wife when she wants to get you off the computer. Mic is crisp and clear over Ventrilo/Teamspeak. Mainly use them for gaming and sound is great for a standard headset. I have it coupled with an X-FI Xtremegamer sound card and the detail is great. Highly recommended for the budget gamer.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great sound, poorly made, March 24, 2008
This review is from: Plantronics Open-Ear Full Range Stereo Gaming Headset (Audio 370) (Personal Computers)
I have used this item for about 3 weeks now and have to say it both good and bad.

The sound is clear and I can find no fault there. The ear cups are also large so to provide plenty of room and not get hot inside due to the open air of them.

My problem comes from the microphone. There is no fault in the voice quality, as I have asked people I talk to and they say it is better than my old unit for clarity and no 'tinny' sounds. My problem is that after about 2 weeks, the arm for the mic now drops to straight down. That is to say that the part you talk into is on my shoulder. It is VERY loose, and I had to turn it up every few minutes to have it just drop back down.

If this part were to be tightened in future models, or if there was someway to fix the current, I would have gave the unit a 5 for 5!

4.0 out of 5 stars Mic falls down, May 23, 2009

Just like how everyone else warned me in their reviews, mic falls down. Didn't take long for it to start happening either. Headphones are large and make you look silly, but they don't touch your ears and are quite comfortable. Cord is nice and long.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Product. Great Value. Great Sound. What Else?, June 13, 2008

This review is from: Plantronics Open-Ear Full Range Stereo Gaming Headset (Audio 370) (Personal Computers)
While currently listening to the headphones listed above I can truely say that they are worth the money. In fact, the price is one of the reasons to get these.

The sound from them is crisp and clean. The bass is a little low for me, but on the other hand I play the bass and if it's not shaking the house it's too low for me. :) The headset works great in games with the crisp sound.

The microphone hasn't let me down yet. I chat online and the people I talk to say that I am clear and easliy understood. So no complaints there.

These headphones are a keeper. They sound great. The microphone is clear. They are comfortable. Good buy.

3.0 out of 5 stars Microphone Issues, August 1, 2008
This review is from: Plantronics Open-Ear Full Range Stereo Gaming Headset (Audio 370) (Personal Computers)
The headset is very comfortable and the sound quality is great. The clarity of the mic is not the problem but the boom and volume are.

The company boasts that the headset has an extendable boom. What they don't tell you is that it is only another half inch of movement which is quite useless. That said, you can't get the microphone close enough to your mouth so that it receives enough db to transmit at a proper volume.

I have adjusted all sound settings, put on mic boost, etc. and it simply will not transmit loudly enough to anyone in Ventrilo, Skype or other recording software.

I replaced it with a $12 cheap headset which is doing the job of this $50 headset.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great 'all rounder', November 30, 2011
This review is from: Plantronics Open-Ear Full Range Stereo Gaming Headset (Audio 370) (Personal Computers)
I've had this for two years now.

Pros:
-apparently durable. I've drop mine occasionally with no ill effect. I roll over the cord every other minute.
-long cord, volume control, mic, etc
-sound quality is of good open headphones. I have the ATH-AD900 and this isn't far behind.
-incredibly comfortable for long periods, no warmth to speak of.
-no adjustment needed. Wires provide some 'clamp', headband supports the weight, ear cups tilt. I don't understand why this design isn't more popular.

Cons:
-Microphone becomes loose, must be modified. I achieved this be wedging paper in the joint and taping it down above
-Pads are felt or something similar, will be slightly itchy before they are 'broken in'

Other:
-yeah it's cheap and plasticy, but it's also light, so eh
-These have been long-discontinued. Shame, but I got mine incredibly cheap

5.0 out of 5 stars 4th set, great headset, July 21, 2011

This review is from: Plantronics Open-Ear Full Range Stereo Gaming Headset (Audio 370) (Personal Computers)
This is the third set of these headphones I have purchased from amazon.com and fourth set over all, to no fault of the product, (side note, kittens LOVE the wires). The ear cups are huge, with ears like mine, they NEED to be huge to be comfortable, and these are very comfortable. The sound quality is fantastic as well, from both the mic. and the speakers. the cord is nice and long, almost to long, but a twist-tie or zip-tie fixes that if it is a problem. The headset itself is durable, doped it several times with no problems. These are very comfortable to wear for many many hours in a row with out getting to hot or causing pain from excess pressure.

In two of my (four) sets, as described by others, the mic. boom arm, falls, as I don't need it to move anyway, I just move it to where I want it to be, tape it in place with masking tape to hold it temporarily, then dip superglue in to the gap, once dry, I remove the tape and have no issue from the mic. Though the last 2 sets have not had this issue.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic, April 20, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Plantronics Open-Ear Full Range Stereo Gaming Headset (Audio 370) (Personal Computers)
This is the best headset I've ever owned. I wish plantronics hadn't discontinued it. There's nothing out there that's more comfortable than this. The sound quality as well as the mic quality are bar-none the best out there. It has one big flaw... As others have already noted, the mic swivel is too loose. My fix was to put a few drops of nail-polish in the swivel base and let it dry, that adds enough friction to completely fix the problem.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Headset I have ever owned, December 2, 2010
This review is from: Plantronics Open-Ear Full Range Stereo Gaming Headset (Audio 370) (Personal Computers)
I have owned this headset for over 3 years. Hands down it is the best headset I have ever owned. Headsets that I have bought in the past ranged in price from $20 to $50 and would typically last about 1 year (being used nearly every day). When I bought these I was concerned at first due to the $100 price tag at the time. However, it turned out to be a great investment. I think they are worth the money at $100 so, at just over $50 (as of 12-2-10) they are a steal!

Pros:
*Durable. Has survived 3 moves, several drops, and a handful of dogs tripping on the cord.
*Very long cord.
*Inline Volume/Mute.
*Cloth ear covers. They are very comfortable. I have done 12 hours sessions with no discomfort.

Cons:
*Microphone can't hold it's own weight. Very quickly the microphone will just fall to it's lowest position.

This review is from: Plantronics Open-Ear Full Range Stereo Gaming Headset (Audio 370) (Personal Computers)
I use this headset for virtual flying games, IL-2 Sturmovik 1946, Microsoft FSX, and FPS games like Call of Duty. I use the headset for communicating with squad mates while flying or shooting and it helps to keep the noise level down in the house when the action gets a little busy. It also helps pinpoint where a sound is coming from in FPS games so there's a better chance of telling if someone is coming from behind. Overall, a good headset that is reasonably comfortable and has good sound and microphone.

A couple of downsides that I see are: the wires from the headset are small and seem a little fragile, so I try to be careful connecting/disconnecting; the boom mic has a tendency to sag downward and I sometimes have to reposition it. I added a spot of silicone under the swivel part of the boom that is attached to the earpiece and it sort of helps the boom to stay put.
