Has problems., November 20, 2007
The headphones & wireless operation work well for what I do with my iPod, which is essentially listening to Podcasts. The weak link in the chain is with the transmitter that plugs into the headphone jack of the iPod and sends the signal to the headphones. Presumably, trying to make the on/off switch on the transmitter "pretty," they have designed it as a plastic circle that you have to twist to turn on and off (turning it off so you don't have to charge it all the time), the problem is that it is hard to turn, sometimes I can't turn it off or on. A simple switch on the side would have prevented all these issues, but alas we are stuck with this poor design (in the transmitter) of what is otherwise a great, functional product.

Lasted about one year, June 1, 2009
This review is from: Plantronics Pulsar 590 Bluetooth Stereo Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
It was good while it lasted. After one year the battery would not charge anymore and Plantronics offered to fix it or replace it for about $100.
The item is in great condition but does not charge anymore and Plantronics basically does not want anything to do with it.

Some Major Flaws, July 6, 2009
This review is from: Plantronics Pulsar 590 Bluetooth Stereo Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
The good news is that this device paired easily with my HTC cellphone, it fitted nicely on the head, and the controls were handy. (I especially liked the increased volume on low volume podcasts.)
But I found at least three major faults:
When I was listening to a podcast and someone called, the podcast cut out and the call worked fine (except for the point below). But when the call was over, the headset was no longer paired with the phone, and the only way to listen again was to restart the phone (which was not a short procedure).
More seriously, over time more and more people started complaining they couldn't hear me. I had at least one person who called hang up (despite my having the microphone tube fully extended, pulling it in front of my mouth, and nearly shouting).
Finally, when I got a netbook, the headset paired perfectly with it, but no longer worked with the cellphone. The Plantronics support page says it can pair with more than one device, but despite repeated attempts to re-establish contact, the two devices no longer work together.

Plantronics Pulsar 590, June 17, 2008
When I seen these I thought "I'll give these a try, I have the Anycom BT headset which works fine but, I don't like the behind the head fit, so I got this one. When it arrived I charged it, paired it with my phone and PC. WORKS great. Sound quality is excellent, callers can hear me just fine. After about 7 months of daily usage the hinge on the ear piece broke. I had registered the product (highly recommended on any product you buy) with Plantronics and called them about the problem. GREAT customer service. I asked what my RMA# was and was told " You don't need one. We will ship a new pair out to you today" 3 days later I had a new headset, with return postage to plantronics included.
PROS: great works with everything I have. It comes with a Gateway device that you plug into your MP3 player (mine is a Zune 80GB and I love not having any wires attached. I can walk around my house and have yet to lose signal).
CONS: plastic but they are improving. Ear pieces get worn down after a while. Signal is lost at times next to my PC for no apparent reason (I beleive this is a Windows problem dealing with the BlueTooth stack)
The issue with the ear pieces was resolved by plantronics when I called to see if they sold replacements, which they do. I do not know what the cost on them are, because plantronics sent me two pairs (4) at no charge. Good product. So good I have a new pair still in the box just in case......
