Stem a Zombie Attack on Your Android Device

A mob of fun-loving zombies is about to invade your home, and your only defense is an arsenal of 49 zombie-zapping plants. Use peashooters, wall-nuts, cherry bombs, and more to slow down, confuse, weaken, and mulchify 26 types of zombies before they reach your front door.

Each zombie has its own special skills, so you'll need to think fast and plant faster to combat them all. But be careful how you use your limited supply of greens and seeds: as you battle the fun-dead, obstacles like a setting sun, creeping fog, and a swimming pool add to the challenge.

PvZ
Battle 26 different types of zombies.

2.0 out of 5 stars Old version. September 17, 2012
By Greven

This version does not work on Samsung Galaxy Nexus (Verizon), stock, ICS 4.04. This is still version 1.2. The Google Play Store edition has been updated multiple times and is now on version 1.35. There is a disturbing trend on the Amazon Appstore of selling old and outdated versions of apps, which discourages me from purchasing through them. I'd rather buy from Google and get timely updates that actually fix newer problems.

3.0 out of 5 stars Android version lacks all game features. November 12, 2012
By xyz

I have this game on many platforms and the Android version is very disappointing. Although the basic game play is pretty much the same, you don't get the Zen Garden and other free-play features that gives the game replay value on other platforms (on which I would give it 5 stars). This version has been out for some time now, I would have thought the authors would have added those features by now.

2.0 out of 5 stars Still no update November 25, 2012

Still lagging behind other platforms
No zen garden, no survival mode. Dissapointed that the android version was just abandoned.

How hard could an update be?

1.0 out of 5 stars Too incompatible -- not really ready IMO July 8, 2011

I feel like they must have rushed it out too quickly or something. My Archos 43 is listed as supposedly being compatible and I've found a few people who were able to managed to get the game to run if they ran the VTL loader (which runs horribly on the Archos 43, but it's meant for tablets, not PDAs like this or smartphones) and killed every single background application first (even things like the device settings should be closed.) It seems it requires that you free up a lot of memory on devices like these that have less than 512MB of memory (eg almost everyone but tablet users.) I've tried absolutely everything though and just can't get the thing to work at all with the VTL or Zeam launchers and > 120MB memory free (and no game should actually require that anyone do all of this just to get it running.) What's more, the game just simply crashes during the loading screen. Obviously a completely unhandled exception or something. It doesn't "force close" or produce any error message whatsoever, just suddenly I'm staring at the loader again after waiting some 2+ minutes to try to start it. That's bad design in my book as this means it doesn't even catch that there is an error at all, but just does something it shouldn't be doing probably. I even tried using the Logcat program to see if at least something showed up in the system log to reflect such an absolute crash, but just couldn't find anything. Whatever it's doing to cause a crash like this just seems very bad to me. I tried twice to report the issue and never even received so much as acknowledgement that it might not work despite being listed as being compatible. I also see a lot of other people having problems with devices that should be able to manage it (some of which are more powerful than mine.... Read more ›

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible Developer Support January 17, 2012
By Keii

This game was first released in May of 2009 for PC. In Feb of 2010 it came out for iPhone. Over a year after it first came out, it was released on Android in May of 2010, which I quickly snatched up but was unable to play because it didn't work on the original Droid. Here it is, the middle of Jan 2012, and I still can't play this game on my brand newly released Galaxy Nexus. Almost 3 years of hearing about how great this game is, and I still can't play it.
The developer is terrible. Don't waste your money on them, they don't care about you.

Should the developer ever think to bother reading comments, the game doesn't work on the Galaxy Nexus. It often will hang when loading, or in the middle of playing. I can't even get past level 1-2 because of this.

1.0 out of 5 stars Completely inferior to ipad version December 10, 2012

I was hoping that after a year they would have added tablet support, but to this day, the game is clunky and pixelated. do not buy.

The ICS update definitely caused this problem as it ran great on honeycomb. I have an ASUS prime tablet and this is the only glitch on a super tablet experience. Probably needs an update for ICS.

Thanks AT&T for depriving me of my free PvZ
If you use the Amazon website you can "purchase" the app and have it on your account and available to you forever. I've done this with a few apps that looked interesting but wouldn't run on either my original Moto Droid or my Nook Color. The apps (from what I can tell) are tied to... Read more
