Chapters are devoted to the elementary processes in a plasma, the properties of plasma-forming gases, plasma sources and their circuit schemes, primary and secondary metallurgy operations in the extraction and refining of both ferrous and non-ferrous metals and alloys, and some representative applications. No prior knowledge of the field is necessary; the book is intended for equipment and process designers, research workers, industrial management staff, and students.
