I looked on Ikea's web site and didn't see this stand and there were no reviews here on Amazon, so at first I was a little hessitant.

Since it was cheap I pulled the trigger. It arrived very nicely packaged (double boxed) and went together in literally 15 minutes. (assembled alone)

I have my 98lb 73" Mitsubishi DLP TV on it and it supports it just great. The selling point for me was the two center support beams (as seen in the pic). I heard the bigger TV's cause these looooong stands to sag in the middle, so the support beams were a huge selling point for me.
Even though the TV is about 6" longer than the stand, the 3" it hangs off on each side is very tolerable and doesn't look bad at all. I needed a shorter stand and all the others were too tall (due ot the height of my TV).
The stand is rated to hold up to 148lbs so hopefully over time my 98lbs TV doesn't do any harm.

Yes, it is Ikea quality so just be careful when assembling and moving around. It is meant for a TV to be put on top of it and left alone. I would not buy this expecting something that can be man-handled a whole lot. If you have owned Ikea products in the past, you know what I'm talking about.

I am VERY happy with this stand and may even post pics with my TV on it for reference. Stay tuned...

This is a great item for the price, but do you realize that the item is available in store for $49.00. $75.00 is a way too steep, and when you factor in S&H, its definitely not worth it. Ikea is great, but this price is way too high, considering the LACK series is IKEA's most basic/inexpensive item. If you have an IKEA store nearby, just go buy it and save yourself $40; if you aren't near one, I would consider a different item.

ive had this stand for 3 years, actually im on my second one cause i moved cross country and didnt move it with me. i got this stand from an ikea store for $50, the first one was $70 but they lowered the price on alot of the items at their stores in 2009. it is great for the price. only thing is that your components are really low in the stand and is kind of a pain to reach. a 65" tv will fit perfectly on the stand edge to edge on the stand. i like the low heigth for large tv's. i see it is selling for alot more on amazon but still a good deal for $85 but not the $185 i see from some of the sellers. so anyway i liked the stand enough to buy it twice!

-- they still sell this at ikea for $50 so save some money and order there--

After seeing this piece on Amazon I checked the IKEA website and saw the same one for $49. I drove to my nearest IKEA and they had the Black/Brown color that's pictured along with a Birch color and an all White color.

The package weighs 50lbs. I set it up in less than 30 minutes by myself and I'm happy with it. I plan on putting a 55 inch LCD TV on it. For only $49, it's a great deal. Nice, simple design and the build quality seems pretty good considering the price.

Second one I've bought direct from ikea. Not strong enough for a tv. Mine is a thin 60in at approx 55lbs and you can see from photos the middle bows and then spreads the edges up. The middle comes with "supports" but found nothing since no support where it needs - the bottom middle. I've added extra legs otherwise it would eventually break. If you can get extra parts use a side piece to use for the middle support and get 2-4 more legs and use rose to support the middle and then and only then would it work

Granted the plasma display I put on my Lack is heavier than an average LCD but I checked the specs of the Lack before I bought it and the weight of my display was within range of what Ikea said the Lack could support. In less than a year both the top and bottom shelves were bowing downward. The moveable metal supports transferred the weight to the bottom shelf which is why both shelves were equally warped.

First off, buy this ether at the store on online. They sell for 49.99 in store (plus a little more for shipping online).

That being said, this is a great stand. It was cheap, very easy to put together, and it looks great. Currently, I have a 60' Samsung Plasma on to, which fits perfectly. Below that, I managed to fit a blu-ray player, Onkyo reciever, Roku, 360, and a old Dell that I turned into a Steam Box. This is alot of bang for your buck, and is extreamly sturdy. The only thing I have against it is it can scratch and chip a little easier than some others, so just be careful with sharp ends.

Directions are clear, went together without a problem. This fits exactly in our room and looks great with our black tv.
