4.0 out of 5 stars Fun but not so functional November 16, 2010
Color Name:Silver Gray
I purchased a few of these because I love elephants and thought these would be fun... and they are!

The person who received one without a hole in the top received an obvious mismanufacture. Not that they should have to, but the plastic is very pliable and they could easily put their own in with a steak knife.

The problem I've had with these is that you have to be very careful not to tilt them too far while watering through the elephant's trunk because water will start pouring out the drilled refill hole on top of the elephant's head. It's very easy to do this and I keep forgetting and so keep relearning the lesson! You've got to think gentle trickle, not quick splash.

Overall, a fun and solid product.

3.0 out of 5 stars Very cute, somewhat useful March 5, 2012
Color Name:Silver Gray|Amazon Verified Purchase
The elephant watering can is adorable. It makes me smile to see her sitting patiently alongside my plants, waiting for her big moment. Unfortunately, when that moment comes, if filled up more than 2/3, she gets so excited to be watering, that water pours out the top of her head, as well as from her trunk. This means that the wood floor gets watered more than the plants. Also, her trunk only has the one hole, so you get a pretty strong stream rather than the more delicate sprinkle you'd get with a more traditional watering can. I paid $9 for her, which was too much, but she's so cute, I'm making do rather than exchanging her for something more utilitarian. If you privilege fashion over function, or want a watering can you can name, you'll be perfectly happy with the elephant watering can. Otherwise, you might want to keep looking.

5.0 out of 5 stars cute pink elephant 2 qt. watering can June 28, 2011
Color Name:Salmon Pink|Amazon Verified Purchase
I like the size of this can and the no sprinkler fact. I have two gray elephant cans, same size, that I've had for several years. My only bad comment is that you have to be very careful to keep them out of direct sunlight or they tend to crack.

4.0 out of 5 stars works March 22, 2012
Color Name:Salmon Pink|Amazon Verified Purchase
This cute little watering can works just fine, though the water will spill out the top if you arent watching what youre doing. At the end of the elephant's trunk there is one dime sized hole.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Can with a History June 22, 2012
Color Name:Silver Gray
Great to see this here. This can comes with its own US history lesson...if you want it. This is (or once was) made by Union Products. This is the same innovative company that made the first and best pink lawn flamingoes designed by Don Featherstone. Both elephant can and pink flamingo were made in Leominster, Massachusetts. Leominster once produced more plastic than any place in the world thus earning for itself the dubious moniker, Plastic City, as well as an unusually high rate of autism.

5.0 out of 5 stars Adorable AND Practical! May 23, 2012
By KayRay
Color Name:Salmon Pink|Amazon Verified Purchase
I just love this watering can! I haven't had any issues with the water pouring out the head/top unless I fill it completely full and then pour it too fast. It's really cute and works great. My plants and I are so happy with my purchase!

3.0 out of 5 stars Very cute but it leaks
Right around the neck area of the elephant, there is a leak. It is right at the seam.
I think I can use some putty to stop the leak, but I wish it wasn't there at all.
