Both of the ones I bought have broken; one immediately and one after a short period (a few weeks). In both cases one of the plastic posts that was joined at a right angle to another post sheared off irreparably. I'll have to try to make my own out of something sturdier.

I purchased this item for obvious reasons, the same as everyone else!! I'd purchased the exact item this seller pictured at a local Bed, Bath, and Beyond store (notice on the box they've pictured, it has BBB on it), and wanted to purchase another, but that store closed, and a second local store had no idea what I was wanting. As I couldn't find it on their website, I turned to Amazon, where one can find literally anything!! I was relieved to find it, though not nearly as excited about the price (locally I paid $2.50 on sale, regularly priced at $5.00), but, for a one-time purchase, I was fine with it, only because I was purchasing some graduation gifts for my husband, so I could combine shipping (which still added an additional almost $2, which I chose to pay instead of the free shipping for faster delivery--hubby graduated 3 weeks ago!!). I received it 2 days ago, 1/6/12, but just now opened it (the product itself; the shipping box was opened immediately by my hubby!!). My first "hmmmm" about it was that the box had been taped shut, not with the round seals that manufacturers use, but with standard tape. Now I realize there are situations that warrant this, but still, it made me leery. Otherwise, the box was in pretty decent condition, with one small tear. When I "assembled" the product, I realized that not only was it different than the one I already had, but also from that which was pictured on the site AND the actual box itself. So it's NOT the product I was expecting, and certainly NOT the product that I PAID for. I was still trying to be optimistic, though I had noticed when I took it out of the box, that it was quite a bit more flimsy than the one I had already (which, by the way, I've owned for probably at least six months with no issues). I had some hangers nearby, that I'd been waiting to use with this product. When I put the first one on, it fell right around it, as the base is too small. This is not a large hanger, just a standard plastic hanger. I moved to the next hanger, which is much smaller and generic (bought from the Dollar Tree in a pinch!!), and it fit, so I was able to just stack a few of those on, and then the first hanger on the top. I think...I hope, that is, that it will work for my needs, but I will NOT use this "company" again, even if they're the only ones on Amazon who offers the product I'm looking for (as was the current situation). This product could last me years, I don't care, I was scammed, and I won't contribute my hard-earned money to a shady "company". Comparing my experience to the other ratings (that I read, and, thinking we all owned the same product, ignored), I would HIGHLY recommend NOT purchasing this product. I've left a review of this seller, and I WILL be contacting Amazon customer service as well. I don't appreciate being ripped off, by intentionally substituting a cheaper product and trying to cover it up, poorly I might add.

As another review mentioned, these break easily. I have owned 3 now, and all three have broken after several weeks' usage. Functionally, it works great, is lightweight, and makes it so easy to carry hangers around the house, and keeps them untangled. I have some wire hangers that have a tighter fit, but the plastic tubular hangers, as pictured with the product, fit very easily on the holder.

I am going to buy a wire holder elsewhere on Amazon; hopefully that will work better, and then I'll throw these plastic things out. As another reviewer said, they are not repairable. If I was handy, I'd try to make myself one instead.
