Plastic Hanger Holder - Basic Version

Both of the ones I bought have broken; one immediately and one after a short period (a few weeks). In both cases one of the plastic posts that was joined at a right angle to another post sheared off irreparably. I'll have to try to make my own out of something sturdier.

I purchased this item for obvious reasons, the same as everyone else!! I'd purchased the exact item this seller pictured at a local Bed, Bath, and Beyond store (notice on the box they've pictured, it has BBB on it), and wanted to purchase another, but that store closed, and a second local store had no idea what I was wanting. As I couldn't find it on their website, I turned to Amazon, where one can find literally anything!! I was relieved to find it, though not nearly as excited about the price (locally I paid $2.50 on sale, regularly priced at $5.00), but, for a one-time purchase, I was fine with it, only because I was purchasing some graduation gifts for my husband, so I could combine shipping (which still added an additional almost $2, which I chose to pay instead of the free shipping for faster delivery--hubby graduated 3 weeks ago!!). I received it 2 days ago, 1/6/12, but just now opened it (the product itself; the shipping box was opened immediately by my hubby!!). My first "hmmmm" about it was that the box had been taped shut, not with the round seals that manufacturers use, but with standard tape. Now I realize there are situations that warrant this, but still, it made me leery. Otherwise, the box was in pretty decent condition, with one small tear. When I "assembled" the product, I realized that not only was it different than the one I already had, but also from that which was pictured on the site AND the actual box itself. So it's NOT the product I was expecting, and certainly NOT the product that I PAID for. I was still trying to be optimistic, though I had noticed when I took it out of the box, that it was quite a bit more flimsy than the one I had already (which, by the way, I've owned for probably at least six months with no issues). I had some hangers nearby, that I'd been waiting to use with this product. When I put the first one on, it fell right around it, as the base is too small. This is not a large hanger, just a standard plastic hanger. I moved to the next hanger, which is much smaller and generic (bought from the Dollar Tree in a pinch!!), and it fit, so I was able to just stack a few of those on, and then the first hanger on the top. I think...I hope, that is, that it will work for my needs, but I will NOT use this "company" again, even if they're the only ones on Amazon who offers the product I'm looking for (as was the current situation). This product could last me years, I don't care, I was scammed, and I won't contribute my hard-earned money to a shady "company". Comparing my experience to the other ratings (that I read, and, thinking we all owned the same product, ignored), I would HIGHLY recommend NOT purchasing this product. I've left a review of this seller, and I WILL be contacting Amazon customer service as well. I don't appreciate being ripped off, by intentionally substituting a cheaper product and trying to cover it up, poorly I might add.

As another review mentioned, these break easily. I have owned 3 now, and all three have broken after several weeks' usage. Functionally, it works great, is lightweight, and makes it so easy to carry hangers around the house, and keeps them untangled. I have some wire hangers that have a tighter fit, but the plastic tubular hangers, as pictured with the product, fit very easily on the holder.

I am going to buy a wire holder elsewhere on Amazon; hopefully that will work better, and then I'll throw these plastic things out. As another reviewer said, they are not repairable. If I was handy, I'd try to make myself one instead.

As they say- you get what you pay for. My bad for expecting a cheap item to be actually functional and of decent quality. The product is terrible- flimsy, rickety and very cheap looking. It fits only plastic hangers properly and although the label said would also fit wooden hangers, it did not fit any of the wooden hangers I have. I returned it back to the Container Store. Sometimes an inexpensive product is just that- cheap and horrid vs. being a decent product at a bargain price.

This item is perfect for what we want to do: neatly collect empty hangers from the closet and carry them to the laundry room for reuse.

But other reviewers are right, it breaks quickly, even with careful use.

If it were made of metal, or a less fragile design, we'd give it FIVE stars.

As is: JUNK.

This product does exactly what it is suppose to do. My closet is way less cluttered now that I can neatly stack hangers on the holder. It is easy to carry around the house. I've had it for more than a month and it still works great--hasn't broken. I recommend it to anyone!

I have one of these at my house and just brought a set of four for a friend who has kids. I love that I don't waste time looking for hangers come laundry day, and I can easily carry the hangers with me to the living room while I fold and hang up clothes. Also great for when talking laundry to the laundry mat - so much easier than struggling with a bag of hangers!

If you keep the movement of this device to a minimum, it serves its purpose as a hanger holder. These holders enable the user to keep unused hangers off of clothing rods thus reducing clutter. They are great in the laundry room and perfect for bedroom closets. If you hate unused hangers falling in your face as you search for an item of clothing, these hanger holders can be useful.

While it has a handle of sorts, the construction is rather flimsy. If you are going to transport your hanger holders from one place to another, put a hand on the bottom of the device to ensure your hangers stay on the device and do not spill on the floor during transport.

I purchased my hanger holders at Big Lots for two bucks each.

I was hoping to shorten the time I spent on laundry by putting everything I needed at my finger tips in my laundry room. This plastic caddy fits neatly on my washing machine for quick grab 'n' hang. When not in use or when I need to fill it up, it lives in my laundry basket. When I am filling the laundry basket w/ dirty clothes, I grab hangers out of the closet and fill my caddy at the same time! The caddy is light; I have read all the reviews and understand that it is not going to last forever. That's why I'll just buy another one as back up!

I totally love these plastic hanger holders. I have them in my laundry room and it helps to keep the hangers organized. Thanks Amazon, you did it again.
