1.0 out of 5 stars Useless junk
Maybe this is a matter of being unlucky with the batch I got, but this inner sleeve is simply too small for a 12 inch record. I tried five different sleeves and five different records. With the four of the five, I can only fit records about halfway in, rendering the product more or less useless. With the fifth, I was able to cram the record in with considerable effort,...

If you're like me, you never gave away your vinyl record albums. There they sat, away in the closet for quite a few years--until recently when I started taking them out, dusting them off and enjoying some of those great sounding vinyl records! These see through plastic protectors for the vinyl record albums really help protect them. They also allow you to see the entire record album instead of just having a hole in the middle through which you can see just the record label.

A lot of time when I purchased records at flea markets they only came with the cardboard record jacket; this made me concerned that the actual records themselves were not sufficiently protected against dust and other elements. These plastic sleeves are actually rather well made and they protect my cherished record albums very well. The plastic also protects your records from light scratches or scuff marks that a regular, unlined paper sleeve can cause.

The plastic sleeves always fit easily into the cardboard record album jacket. I usually place the record in such a way that although it's covered by the plastic sleeve I can just pull it out of the sleeve and the jacket. Other people may prefer to have the open slit of the plastic sleeve facing away from the outer slit of the record jacket for even better protection of their vinyl.

I can't really think of any downside to these plastic record albums sleeves. They do a wonderful job of protecting your vinyl.

4.0 out of 5 stars workable, but a little snug, May 20, 2010

These sleeves do what they claim, more or less. The heavy plastic is better than the flimsy light plastic that originally came with some of the records, but they still are not as easy to use as the plastic-paper composite that the more expensive records used (e.g., Angel, DGG, Phillips, RCA Living Stereo). My biggest gripe is that they are a little too snug; they should be about a millimeter or two larger in width, to give you just enough room to get your hand in to extract the record. Also, the plastic seems to stick to the record more than the plastic they use to line the composite sleeves. Maybe this is just a function of age, however, and will improve with time as the plasticizer volatilizes.

If you're serious about keeping your vinyl in great condition, especially your titles pressed on 180 gram vinyl, this product is a must. A great replacement for old paper sleeves that are worn and/or torn.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Aid in Storing and Organizing, March 27, 2011

This review is from: 100 Plastic Innersleeves for 12" Vinyl Records #12IH03 - Prevent Paper Scratches & Protect Against Dust! 3 MIL THICK! (Albums / Inner Sleeves) (Electronics)
Well, I agree with everthing that has been written in reviews for this article prior to mine. I appreciate the full visibility and added protection that comes from no "label hole". They are just a tad snug, but I have found the records easy enough to insert. So far, I'm just cleaning my discs, preparing to organize and then digitize -- for as someone somewhere has said, much of one's favorite music never made it to newer delivery systems. Also, in my case, I am using these as outer covering as well, due to water damage sustained during a move, and am satisfied that these inner sleeves can do that, provided I store the collection in plastic boxes. I'd ordered just 1 packet, initially, to see how they perform, and am ordering another 1 or 2 today. All in all, a good niche product for a specialized need.

I prefer these heavier plastic sleeves for replacing the torn-up paper sleeves on my LPs. They slide into the album cover much easier. I think they are worth the higher price.

I purchased these inner sleeves as replacements for missing or torn sleeves in my robust record collection that dates back several decades. They are relatively thick plastic as described unlike the usual paper or rice paper sleeves. They come in a clear outer package and are easily removed one at a time as needed. I have no complaints and they appear to be a good value.

Maybe this is a matter of being unlucky with the batch I got, but this inner sleeve is simply too small for a 12 inch record. I tried five different sleeves and five different records. With the four of the five, I can only fit records about halfway in, rendering the product more or less useless. With the fifth, I was able to cram the record in with considerable effort, but I worry I am damaging the vinyl with such a tight fit, and even if I'm not, it's so inconvenient, I would rather just use the paper sleeves that came with the record. The sleeves are actually only about 11 and 15/16ths inches wide, which explains a lot. I've purchased at least five or six orders of vinyl sleeves on Amazon before and never had a problem. This product is junk.

4.0 out of 5 stars Plastic Sleeves for Vinyl Records, July 20, 2010

I purchased the sleeves to use on my Vinyl Albums. I am cleaning the albums prior to Digitizing. I wanted to maintain the clean condition for digitizing, and restoring into the Cardboard Cover.
I considered paper sleeves first, and after considering both I chose the Plastic type.
