I use these for my small veg. garden and they are large enough to let many plant types grown such as beans, peppers and herbs. It is lightweight making moving and shifting them around easy and the non-cling material makes removing soil and cleaning quick. It also has excellent drainage though soil falls out a bit to easy from below but can be fixed by place some small stones to act as a barrier yet filter out excess water.

These pots are exactly what you find at a nursery or gardening store but for almost half the price.
Amazon should demand complete product specs from EVERY vendor before selling any product.
Regarding these pots, they are 9.5 inches deep; 9.5 inches across the top; and 8 inches across the bottom.
They are intended to be used in the ground. Use clay pots for above ground plantings.

They are plastic nursery pots. Mine got here with the tops slightly crushed, but, I planned to trim them off anyway. I'm happy.

I had previously bought 3 gallon nursery pots from Homedepot. They cost me probably few more cents but were of better quality and finish. When i received these - i didn't like them - but i couldn't return it either since i would have to pay for shipping them back. It would have cost me more than double for shipping them back. Just keeping them. They are just the way they are pictured. They are good enough to hold all the soil as per the capacity. Nothing wrong with them - would surely serve the purpose. But i preferred the one's bought from Homedepot for a few more cents.

I usually transplant into the 3 gallon from my 1 or 2 gallon containers. The majority of my plants will spend alot of time in these 3 gallon pots until finding a permanent home in the ground or being sold or given away. After use, these containers are great because you can clean them and reuse for the next set of plants.

They are light and compact, even when full with dirt/plant. And storage is great being stack-able. You can also stack these and fit inside a larger gallon pot.

Keep in mind that this isn't a true to size 3 gallon container. It is the standard industry size of 2.296 gallons. FWIW
