HEY SOMETHING'S WRONG.,
By Tom Servo "Robot" (Satelite of Love) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Plastic Soul Impalement (Audio CD)
Training for Utopia is easily one of the best metalcore/chaos-core group of all time. Made up of members of Focal Point and these guys would move on to be the nu-metal sensation Demon Hunter. Training For Utopia are at once alarmingly bittersweet, remarkably romantic and mournfully tragic, yet often tongue-in-cheek. Their songs cut a path of brutal-honesty-disguised-as-playful-savvy not seen since the glory days of Nation Of Ulysses. Their new album sees them experimenting with loops, samples and trance-inducing effect trickery that blends into a somber beauty. They are basically a mix between Focal Point, Slipknot, NIN, and Dillinger Escape Plan. They are tight. You must buy this if you are anyway interested in hard music.

Boom!,

I got this album at one of their concerts at the Chain Reaction. These guys have a special talent that was placed into this album. This album has a very heavy, powerful, mind bashing quality to it. I went nuts at the concert, and I go nuts when I listen to this album.

Very Heavy, Creative.,
By Ethan J Lewis (Minnetonka, MN United States) - See all my reviews

I wouldn't bother calling this hardcore, this cd is chaos-core! From the opening experimental track, this CD sets up an assault on your ears, pummeling your senses with riff after riff of sweeping guitar lines which are unlike anything i've ever heard. It took me a solid week to even start liking this CD but once i had absorbed it thouroughly i was hooked. That was about a year and a half ago and i still often pop it in and enjoy. Any heavy music fan should buy this. The world weeps together as this band parts their ways, but good luck to Don and Ryan on their new work together.5 stars! Excellent!
