This is a great stool. The manufacturer makes a one-step and a two-step version of this. The smaller one comes in colors, but I think the two-step only comes in black or white at the time of this writing.

What makes this step stool nice is that it is a very dense plastic. It's not that flimsy stuff that you usually find. Our 250-pound handyman used our stool and was so impressed that he wanted to know where he could purchase one.

It is also very well engineered and assembled. It folds easily, and it snaps into place securely. When folded, the cutout in the step forms a handhold for carrying.

This is one of those products that you know will last for years. I'm glad I own both the one- and two-step versions. They come in very handy.

This stool appears to be well made but I was looking for a 24" tall step stool for my kitchen and the dimensions as printed on amazon's page led me to believe it was 23.5" tall...but it is 17" tall. I hope that helps someone else to know that it is exactly what they want or not because when I discovered that it was not what I needed I put it right back in the box and took it to UPS to return it and found out that it would cost me $44 to return it, primarily due to the oversize box dimensions required to ship it. They looked up USPS parcel post as well and it was well over $20. Hardly worth returning and so now I own the darn thing whether I want it or not. I did contact the company and got the standard "not our responsibility", etc.

The other thing I would add is that it is not an easy open/shut stool. It is a two-handed process involving some effort and in the kitchen I need something I can shake open pretty easily and quickly. Perhaps it loosens up over time but on initial try, I was wary about that aspect of it. Really had to push down on the top to get it to go flat. But well made. Just be sure you want it in spite of the above.

***After leaving the above, I received an email from the seller offering to send me a prepaid mailing label to return the item and also indicating that they will contact amazon to have the dimensions amended. I was happy to see a much more flexible response on their part so would improve my star rating to 4 stars based on that...

I just finished a kitchen remodel. We removed our soffits and installed cabinets that go all the way to the ceiling, meaning, of course that I can't reach the top shelf. I also needed a step stool that would fit in my pantry closet-no sense having to store the step stool in the basement....This product was exactly what I needed and exactly as described. Amazon had the best price also.

I bought this for my 91 year old mother who is very short. She says it's light weight and easy to carry around, feels sturdy to climb on and closes easily. She finds it a little "stiff" to open - making it a harder for her to open than she would like. Because she needs to keep it in her small kitchen, she appreciates having something that folds up.

Far better then standing on a bucket when you do not quite need a A-frame pulled out ;P Light and sturdy top working platform with nice amount of foot room. Non slip rubberized pads work well on concrete and wood surfaces and wet locations. Personal note, if you work in dusty/wet locations (like a concrete plant) do not get the black one, the top has a non stick rough surface and can get a little dusty/dirty ;)

Even makes a half decent seat when squatting in front of a junction box for hours (but bring a rag to sit on)

I ordered this for the kitchen to get my 27 month old up to the counter. My son took to it right away and he was very happy with his height at the counter and ease of washing his hands and helping to make dinner. It is very tight to open and close at first and I pinched my finger in the side fold, losing a good chunk of skin! Obviously, don't let little fingers try to open/close it, bt otherwise, appears safe for him. The wide angled base prevents it from direct contact with the cabinets, which could cause a little foot to slip down between the cabinet and the stool. I turned the stool 90 degrees to get him a little closer. he also likes to sit on it.

It's a bit larger/clunkier than I had anticipated. It folds down compactly, but the lower step sticks out, which means it needs a larger space for storage. The lower step seems a bit less sturdy than the rest of it, but overall, it is still sufficiently sturdy. It's also good for me to easily reach the upper shelves of my high cabinets and I feel totally at ease on the top of it. It would be a good all around house stool.

The biggest problem is I ordered the beige color for $29.99 from Amazon ( B&R Plastics 105-4BK Black EZ Foldz Two-Step Stool ), but was sent the black for $35.61. This is the second time I have had a color issue with Amazon's drop down menues. I'm awaiting their response as to how to correct the problem. I would still recommend the product.

Although the product gets 5-stars, the product information page gets only 2 stars. Under Product Features it states, "Folds to an easy-to-store 2 inch width."

WARNING: THIS IS INCORRECT!

The actual folded width is 4 3/4-inches due to the protrusion of the lower step.

I bought one of these stools while they were available for Amazon Prime. It proved so useful that I bought another. For a mobile DIY'er, they are invaluable. The uses are end-less as I use them more to rest my end on than to stand on. It is perfect for any job with a 1 to 5-foot working height such as electrical, appliance, auto, ATV or A/C. If an additional 17 1/2-inches of height is needed, this stool will hold up.

I made my 300-pound cousin stand on it blindfolded and turn around 3 times just to make sure.

It fits nicely folded behind the seat of a truck or SUV. It is portable and very sturdy.

One note of caution: The stool is unfolded by first lifting the top and then pulling the side panels outward. When pulling the side panels out, DO NOT grab the center hinged portion. It will pinch the dog stew out of your fingers and might even draw blood. Pull on either side of the hinge and you'll be fine.

If you happen to have a neighbor who likes to borrow stuff all the time and not return it, tell him/her to wrap his/her fingers around the center hinge and pull hard.

At first, the stool is hard to fold, but a few weeks after we got it, it is getting easier. I love the height of it and the fact that it folds, but it is much much bigger (at the base) than I thought. I was more interested in the height, so I'm sure I didn't notice the measurements aside from that, but I am still surprised at how much space it uses. I needed something for my son to use to be able to reach our tall bathroom and kitchen sinks, and I wanted it to fold so I could tuck it away, and for both purposes, it works perfectly. I just wish it were a bit smaller!

The EZ fold step stool is great. Folds away, is very sturdy and holds up to 300 lbs. Great height for sitting on. I have two. One for House and one in SUV.

it is sturdy but doesn't fold down to the advertised size. So don't buy this if you are planning for a tight space.
