This review is from: Plastique (Dig) (Audio CD)
Sole has been consistent in dropping albums, ep's and other self-produced projects for the past decade. Usually two or three a year give or take. So when I read in a pretty well known hip-hip magazine that this was gonna be Sole's "Most Listenable" release to date I had to laugh. It was a funny Ad, and although I find all his music thought provoking and listenable, I recognize the opportunity to broaden his fan base. If you try to sit and follow his lyrics verse-for-verse you may become dizzy. He's that sick! Here on 'Plastique', Sole hasn't sounded this focused since 'Live From Rome'. The music is more progressive than past albums, and Sole paces himself, and even rhymes more than some earlier releases. Personally, I enjoyed the last two albums w/ the Skyrider Band more, the beats were better, but here lies a musical journey that unfolds itself more with each listen.
