Solid follow up to Eartsnop.,

Yes, Myracle Brah's second album does borrow a lot from the past, but that's not a bad thing. Pop music doesn't have to be written by producers and performed by pretty puppets with pleasant voices (fun with alliteration!).This record is short, sweet and too the point. Melodic and and catchy, Myracle Brah is a fresh of breath air despite the obvious homages to the past. Rock on.

This is a fanastic cd from start to finish. This rolls from sound effects to upbeat tempo mod riffs. Love this cd. Its not the straight pop of the earlier cds,(nothing wrong with that)this is far more layered, more complicated and my favorite. Buy this Cd!

Big letdown after Life on Planet Earthsnop,

I was very disappointed with this disc. Where were the 2 minute nuggets of brilliant pop from the previous recording? I found this disc to be both bland and tuneless. Very sad.

I had waited for this album for years and whne it finally came out, I was ecstatic. You will not be let down by the amazing Andy Bopp. He comes through with the outstanding music that you expect from a stand up guy like himself. Where Life on Planet Eartshnop lacked imn emotional investment, Plate Spinner picks up. Great cd. And you have to order it from Amazon, because youa nd I know that you aint gunna find it in your local cd store.

Hmmmm,

This powerpop frenzy is getting out of hand. A couple of gems - the first Fountains Of Wayne record and Cotton Mather's 'Kon Tiki' - and any band that can mange a two-part harmony and a McCartney bassline is getting hailed as the purest of pure pop on a very pure day. Enter Myrakle Brah. Like so much of what is hailed as genuis at the moment, 'Platespinner' is a pedestrian affair, with the odd terrific moment (if we're honest, it's all downhill from the excellent opener). People say it's like listening to AM radio in 1972. AND THAT'S MEANT TO BE A GOOD THING? Hey, punk did happen, and the powerpop that strikes a chord now accepts that (how depressing, to talk about the best of a genre being willing to accept another genre from 25 years ago). This is lumpy, pedestrian stodge. What next? The Hall and Oates revival?
