Book Description

September 29, 2009
The first two Hemlock Falls mysteries?a winning recipe for mystery lovers.

A Taste for Murder takes readers to the festival at Hemlock Falls, featuring a reenactment of the 17th-century witch trials. But this year the mock execution becomes all too real when a guest at the Inn is crushed under a pile of stones. The killer has not been identified?yet.

In A Dash of Death, Helena Houndswood is the epitome of class when the cameras are rolling. Behind the scenes, this expert on style is a snob with a heart of stone. She?s furious to hear that the decidedly déclassé women of Hemlock Falls have won her TV show?s design contest. When one winner goes missing and the other is found dead, Helena falls under suspicion. Murder can be so tacky.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice, November 20, 2009
This review is from: A Plateful of Murder (Mass Market Paperback)
It is a very nice way to get started with an author you've never read before to be able to get two books at once. I had tried to read Just Desserts and found it impossible to get into because the characters were so poorly drawn. Of course, that's because they were in so many books that came before that the author thought everyone knew them. Bad way to encourage new readers. However, now that I've been able to go to the beginning, I might follow the rest of the books since the characters are not altogether unlikeable. However, I am surprised the publisher allowed so many typographical errors in this edition. At times I had to fill in the word because what was printed didn't make sense the way it was spelled. I was not impressed with the quality of the publication.

It arrived quickly and was like new, but I wished that I had known that it contained two stories. I ordered the second one from another vendor.
