It was recommended to me by a friend as a children book. I have a 5 year old daughter, but I found this to be for older kids. Maybe for a 10 year old kid. I started reading it and so far I like it. I've always liked spanish literature. The book has some ilustrations. Very nice.

"Platero y Yo" is a classical work of literature that I had to study when I was in high school in Cuba. I love the Spanish edition, but for those not fluent in that language the shorter English/Spanish version is a must. The book is supposed to be a children's book, but it is really a deep philosophical masterpiece.
