abs of steel? I beg to differ,
By
This review is from: Platinum Series: Abs of Steel 2000 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
When I viewed this video, it was nothing like I expected. In a blink of an eye the abs work-out was over. It was mostly aerobic and the title of the video was very misleading.

abs of steel 2000 + arms,

This review is from: Platinum Series: Abs of Steel 2000 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I found the aerobic portion of this tape really good, but the abs part of it seemed to go really quick and it also seemed to focus more on the arms part of it.

Good All-around Workout,
By Maura Jenkins (Palo Alto, California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Platinum Series: Abs of Steel 2000 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Like many of the 2000 series "steel" videos, this one features a 30 minute aerobic segment followed by toning and stretches. The aerobics focus on leg movement with some arm pumping. I lift 15+ pound weights regularly, so I didn't get much out of that segment, although it looks like a good beginner's set. The abs are short, but effective if done right. If you're looking for just crunches, try Abs of Steel 2 or some of the other video in this series. Some of the hair styles are dated and a few of the moves cheesy, but I think it's a good video to add variety to your collection.

Great Stomach Work,

This review is from: Platinum Series: Abs of Steel 2000 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This video starts out with an aerobic section that can be tricky, but is effective once caught onto. The arm toning segment did not seem to do very much or be very effective. The instructors went through the arm segment fairly fast and I would have liked to work on the arms longer, to develop more of the toned look, instead of just three minutes of work. However, the ab section was great. It had the 'hurt pain' and it was so effective. I have only used the video a couple of times and I can already see results on my abs.

This is an excellent blend of ab training and aerobic fat burning. Leisa Hart is the Ab Guru, she was then and is now, she is the best and this video is great.

Great aerobics and change of pace from toning,

I thoroughly enjoy this workout. It's a great cardio workout. It is a nice change of pace if you do a lot of the toning videos. I use this video three times a week and do the toning the other days. I enjoyed the change of pace. It is very upbeat and jazzy. I find the instructors very motivating and energetic. It is a tough workout and might take some time to master and they state this. The first portion has a warm up. Then the three instructors, Leisa Hart, Nancy Popp and Tracy York, each do an aerobic section. The intensity gets stonger with each instructor. There is a nice cool down portion followed by the toning segment. The toning section has more variety than I am used to, which was good. It's nice to try new techniques rather than just change the lever of the old stand-bys. I have always used Tamilee's videos, but I was very impressed by Leisa Hart and her team. I would definitely recommend this video to anyone looking for a good low-impact aerobic routine.

Terrible makeover!,

I bought this as a followup to the original Buns of Steel--- and what a let down! The beginning aerobic part is tough to follow, and the three women were just too cheery. I'll take the original guy with the corny hair and music any time. HIS workout really WORKS!
