The 'Platnium' album is the upbringing of the new Vengaboys member Cheekah, also the offical webmaster of the Vengaboys Offical Webpage (mind you though, he is only featured on one track - take a guess). You may be wondering why I gave this CD 5 stars. If it wasn't for my die-hard Vengaboys fan fascination I would probably rate it four. But you see, the tracks aren't all that bad.In my opinion the best tracks on this album is 24/7 in my 911 and Kiss (When The Sun Don't Shine). If it wasn't for those tracks I wouldn't have bought it. Funnily enough, the track Forever As One is about to (or rather is) a single - as well as Shalala Lala, Kiss (When The Sun Don't Shine), Uncle John From Jamaica and possibly Cheekah Bow Bow (That Computer Song). The track 48 Hours, sequel to the track 24 Hours from the Party Album is quite good for a techno song. Your Place or Mine? is quite good as well. Skinnydippin' is a little less boring but is definetly not for everyone. Definetly, the WORSE track on this album is Opus 3 in D# - the boriest techno track you'll here in months. If they were going to put a few techno tracks on the CD you'd atleast think they'd put some good ones on - similar to the Majority of the tracks on the Party Album. Still, the tracks on this album are of good quality - contrary of what some people will have you to believe. You may only get 10 tracks on the CD altogether but lets not forget the extra stuff you get - Videos, Screensaver, Secret Links, etc. Overall, this album is VERY GOOD but needs some improvement.

This is not quite as good as the first album The Party Album, but it comes pretty close, makes for great music in the car especially long distance driving, great loud, and you are never too old for fun music like this.

I Can't Believe I Like This,
This review is from: Platinum Album (Audio CD)
I was recommended this album by one of my friends after she had seen a vengaboys concert in Kolkata. Being a somewhat hardened metalhead, I was pretty sure that I wouldn't like "dance music". I was wrong. Maybe I am just getting old or something, but I actually liked all of the songs on this album. The songs were basically stupid, cheesy, and no-brainers, but they all had nice tunes and the band has a very unique sound that I haven't heard anywhere else. The album has several videos on it as well, so you will need a computer to get the whole benefit. On the whole, a very pleasant surprise.

Yes.. this album is set to continue the Venga world domination! It has proven hits like Kiss and Shalala lala and also a range of follow ups: Uncle John and Skinnydippin are the Summer 2000 hits! If you enjoyed the Party Album you have to buy The Platinum album, although it isn't that long as the first one.... It has the partybeat all over again! GET THIS! GET THIS! Greetings from the home of Venga: The Netherlands! |
